I Love Fall

Thank you girls for all your sweet comments and prayers and emails. You are all so special and I'm thankful to have you...Now on to fun stuff.I know most of you are getting a jump on Christmas decorating but I enjoy fall and Thanksgiving.I don't like to rush it.For me fall marks the start of nesting, a slower pace (summer is busy here), enjoying more time with family and friends, good food and togetherness.I also love the colors, cool crisp air but not so cold that a warm cup of tea won't take the chill off ,warm scents always candles burning.I also love that darkness comes earlier encourages me to relax.Hubby always makes a big Thanksgiving dinner here wether it's just us or a housefull. It's the only holiday we spend at home...So the Halloween is away and the turkeys are out..

Display on top of the old mecantile cupboard....

The little red stepback cupboard with my chalkboard I change for every season..Beeswax turkey by me..Love the old putz turkey in the wood bowl..

This shelf changes with the season too..

Look closer...

Madalynne's sweet crow is holding a antique putz turkey.Love switching her for each season. She is a well loved treasure..

Yummy maple syrup candle burning...

Front door simple...

Pumpkin crunch cake burning here...

Nothing overboard just simple touches. So many things from my friends sweet reminders of you all. Today is a beautiful Indian Summer day then supposed to get cooler again, at least no more snow yet..smile...I'm going to take the dogs for a long walk and work on some gifts and swap goodies.Hope you all are having a wonderful week.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Wonderful fall displays Amykins....I (slowly) take down my Halloween and leave behind the purely fall stuff for last then start with Christmas - so it's a gradual (kinda mix n' match) thing round here - although who knows what it will be this year....perhaps Halloween yet at Christmas....hmmmmm.... Love the little putz turkeys....and Madalynne's crow would look amazing no matter what (if anything!) she's holding! Enjoy the weather - we're in for that s-stuff I hear....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

Fall is my favorite season. I really don't put out a lot of Halloween or Thanksgiving, but a lot of fall. It really brings me comfort to know the trees will soon be bare and snow will cover the ground. Plants and insects will die away or rest until spring brings its fantastic rebirth. Spring is my second favorite season.
We turned on our furnace today! That makes it real.
I love your turkeys and sheep!

I'm with you girl... I don't rush fall either. As a matter of fact, mine stays out till the end of November. How wonderful that your hubby makes a big Thanksgiving dinner!! Do you have any idea how fortunate you are?! Lol!

Your candles sound so yummy and your fall decor is just beautifully prim, love it all Amy!

I agree with your comment about DST ending. I like the slower pace the early darkness brings! I also love the old turkeys. The one you have in the bowl is a beaut! It all looks warm and cozy! Blessings to you, too. ~Roberta

Good morning Amy,
What a perfectly lovely post and you expressed my sentiments of Fall and Thanksgiving perfectly..it is a 'nesting' feeling isn't it...like a hibernation of sorts...except for the sleeping round the clock we just take a slower pace.

Beautiful decorating. Oh I love the dolls mixed in with all the Fall...they are so sweet....and the curly sheep...goodness he's beautiful.
