So far so good

As you can see the dogs are all snuggled in for Sandy.Poor things I hate to have to make them go out in it..smile...We've only lost electric so far for a few minutes.Fingers crossed because there are over 3000 in our county without electric and they say if it goes out might be a week till they get it back.So far we are weathering the storm ok.Today still high winds, rain and they say snow.Alot of roads flooded and closed as well. Most of the local goverment offices are closed till at least wednesday.I was surprised the mail went.Poor mailman out walking all day in this just brutal weather.I certainly would have waited for my mail,I didn't even want to go to the mailbox sent hubby..smile....I will leave the blog sale up for today yet.I know a few emailed and said they were preping for the storm and wanted to look. There are 3 pages just go to the bottom and hit older post..Also girls in the ornie swap I understand if you are a few days behind with the storm,I would not go out in it either,so just make sure it's out by thursday..Hope all are safe and snug were you are.Warm Blessings!~Amy.

A few things

Happy Saturday! We are preparing for the storm coming so been busy.We are expecting very high winds, heavy rain and they say possibly snow.Funny last year we got our first snow Halloween.I'm not to worried except about the freezers as I don't have a generator. But otherwise if the power goes out for a few days we are good.We have a gas stove. We have a small gas heater on the sunporch that will also keep the living room warm so we can camp out in there if need be.Plus have plenty of battery and real candles...The pic above I took on my country drive a few days ago.Headless horseman on a giant horse. The horse used to be a advertising piece, you can also see all the pretty colors on the mountains in the background...I also wanted to give you a heads up, I'll be posting a blog sale this evening and tomorrow.Lots of good prims at fair prices..I have this antique childs set going....
Plus butter paddles, Old carriers and boxes,a wood trencher bowl, masher, breadboard, antique cookie cutters, watering can, crocks, dolls and tons more..Lots and lots of prims I usually don't list online..

Fall Decorating

Well it seems my blogging is getting less time to chat with all you wonderful girls.Just a few more weeks and things will slow down and nesting season will begin for me...smile....Wanted to share my Halloween decorating around the house.Didn't do alot outside just some simple prim touches and some pumpkins of course.Spicy candles burning everyday, today pumpkin pie and maple syrup..Yummm...
Today will be a Pj day rain falling and nowhere to run.House is straight and baked cookies yesterday.Curling up with some hot tea and catching up on some of my shows and reading some prim mags..Will figure out something slow to pop in the oven for dinner maybe beef tips and onions over garlic cheese toast...
Might work on some ornies later for mine and Old lady morgans swaps...I was tempted to go to a sale but figured it was raining and gas would be to high for just one sale so glad I didn't go now...Yes I need to remind myself Relax...
Went with grandma for the blood work it was funny she thought she remembered the way from before but took me on a wrong turn and we ended up at the prison. We had to go the whole way around just to get out. They were transporting prisoners so armed guards everywhere.Grandma is yelling get me outta here.LoL.The lady that did my blood was wonderful.I ask her if she was good and she said yes.I said I'm not good with needles. She said don't worry and was right didn't hurt at all. That was the first time it didn't hurt or they didn't miss the vein.I won't have the results back till next week sometime.
The leaves are at their peek here,so tomorrow plan on taking a drive.PA has so many beautiful farms and houses.Love to just drive and daydream...

The girls just had their Birthday..Yikes..The big 10 they are becoming so independant and really have their own personalities...Love them with all my heart...
They both had "Best Friends" this year...
They had the party at the bowling alley so they had a blast.Well girls hope you all have a great weekend.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Tuesdays Display Chain Patina

Well today is our last display chain for awhile.Always so fun when Misi host.Todays theme is Patina..I love aged patina's that can only come with time...
Such history here....
Someone's stand at market..Crackled Baby and pewter..
My Favorite Patina is old wood....

My weekend find..smile...It is huge!
Now hop on over to http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2012/10/tuesday-display-chain-patinapatina.html and visit the other links....On another note I finally am going for blood work tomorrow..Hubby is more worried than me says he's afraid that they might find something.Me I'd rather know so I can get it taking care of unlike my dad who kept putting things off.If you could just say a prayer or send out some good vibes that everything comes back ok.Gotta tell you a funny story though I am scared to death of needles so yes I would have put it off awhile longer but my grandma called and said you're taking me for my bloodwork right I said yes, but I'm not going yet.She said I've already scheduled you too.So me and grandma are going together. She wants to help pay for it since I have never ask for anything and all the other grandkids got over the years.I told her she doesn't have to but she is pretty insistant on it so I might let her help.I am so Thankful to still be able to have her...Also wanted to remind the girls in the ornie swap you have a little less than 2 weeks to get your ornies out.The ones that came so far are wonderful.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Tuesdays Display Chain See It Do It

Well today is Display Chain I honestly didn't think I'd make it in time, but Hooray for me I did..smile...Hosted by Misi our theme this week is See It  ~ Do It   Something that you saw and did or created from that inspiration.I've always loved these pretty stenciled boxes. But I always got the brush to wet or rushed it and smeared them up..This one is from http://americanheritageshop.com/accessories.htm and I just loved it........
So it inspired me to try again.I took my time and let each layer dry completely. This is how it turned out....

I think it turned out nicely.I will try some more as time permits as they are quit pricey to buy.Now hop over to Misi's and visit the other links.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Good morning Girls! Just stopping in to thank Sara of Salmon Falls and Christina of Pendleton Prims for their gifts.I've been very busy some good, some bad but nothing to concerning. Thanks to those who have emailed.I'll do a regular post soon..So on to the fun stuff..First up is from Sara.Let me say she totally spoiled me! Look how pretty everything is wrapped..She does her own wood working and sells on etsy so if you girls are drooling you can stop over her etsy and purchase..(Salmon Falls)
She sent me this beautiful table riser.I was so excited this is just perfect! Even hubby thought it was great. The Give Thanks pumpkin is wonderful.I don't have alot of Thanksgiving decor. The little pumpkins and spoon are wax and cinnamon and smell so yummy...
A blue jean pocket arrangement..Sara hand painted the harvest moon sign no stencil used. The paddle board I think I'm going to mount a smaller hooked rug on to display it..
Sara really went above and beyond even with a sweet new grandbaby and her husband being sick(send up a little prayer for him if you can).Thank you sara for your friendship and all the beautiful gifts...
Next up is Christina Pendleton Prims  She has 3 kiddos and loves to get them involved in everything. She has a fun family blog with lots of projects she creates...Banner and pumpkin head pick added to the door shutter..

Some of her wonderful pillow tucks and a journal for fall.I just love that spooky pumpkin head pillow.Brianna keeps asking for the journal for school. So far I've said no but I'm not good at the no thing so if she keeps bugging I might say yes.Actually I think I'm going to buy some supplies so her and Hannah can make one as I know it will be a fight if one has one and one doesn't...
Thank You Christina for swapping and sending the extra pillow special...A few have asked about the Christmas Swap.I will be posting it in a few weeks so we have plenty of time to work on it...I've been visiting everyone and commenting as I have time.Loving all the prim fall decorating and ideas.Warm Blessings!~Amy
