Secret Sister Strikes Again Prof Muzzle Scruff and No Good Pictures for Easter

Char over at The Pickled Pepper Patch hosted a Secret Sister Swap. You had to commit to a package each month (and if you want some little extras) Then in December you find out who your partner is.My Secret Sister is soooo fun and thoughtful. No clue who it is but when we are done I'm going to send her a nice present..smile...This months Theme was In The Garden. She sent me some wonderful garden gloves aren't they pretty..Some seeds, going to plant the zinnia's today since it went from cold to hot here no spring just odd weather this year...Southern Lady magazine which most of you don't know I was raised in the south and now live in PA so love old southern traditions and charm...And this wonderful homespun apron.... Look at the little rake in the pocket...Loved everything!!!

Then Traci http://yorkmountainprimitives.blogspot.com/ had a name the bear contest so I told hubby to pick a good name he picked Professor Muzzle Scruff and we won.The only thing he ever won in his life..smile..He smells yummy everytime I walk through the room..Thanks Traci for the fun contest...

Easter was a beautiful day.I made a special Coconut Cream Cake to take to grandma's farmhouse. My Pap Pap loved coconut and I always made him candy. This was our second Easter without him he was a big part of my life.So I made the cake in memory of him.It was sooo good, grandma said he would have loved it.It went with a missing piece though cause hubby decided to test it in the middle of the night.Guess he wanted to make sure it was good enough..smile...Well the girls were wild up from the chocolate bunny breakfast and cookies, cupcakes and cake at grandma chickens house so no good pictures of them.Luckily it was nice weather so they could go outside and hide eggs over and over and run and play..See the type of pics I got.....

Here is my cousin Heidi Hubby and I helped raise her..

My good sister, yes I have a evil sister too.Her son Jayson and Brianna.Jayson has been grumpy he's been sick on and off since december so he is going to have his tonsils removed soon...

It was really a nice Easter..I've been busy otherwise.Getting seeds started, working in the garden, treasure hunting I found some goodies will try to share soon, and finishing up some swap stuff. We haven't did fleamarket with Easter and the week before we took off due to the weather. This week we'll be setting up I can't wait to go searching.I've been trying to clean out my computer room it's piled floor to ceiling with stuff I've bought home.Truth be told as I'm going through it half the stuff I forgot I even had.I'll never be able to list everything as the loft is full to so sending some of it to fleamarket.Well hope everyone is having a great week.Tons of yard and community sales here over the next few days so I'll be out junking umm treasure hunting.Warm Blessings!~Amy

A little outing

Well today was my final me~cation day.It was nice not having to worry about the rush of daily life for 3 days.Hubby wanted to go check on a recent job he finished as we had a ton of heavy rain the last few days. Our plans were then to scope out a yardsale that was to be held tomorrow then head over the antique mall.We never made it to the antique mall.We wanted to be first at the sale in the morning so went to find it.The people were setting up so we asked them about the wood bath tub and antique plantation desk from down south..They invited us to come and look...My heart skipped love being first and to look at leisure and not have to grab things is a dream come true! They had everything I wanted Pantry Boxes,Old wood measures,Antique hand sewn quilts, old christmas annd easter, yelloware, graniteware but...They went to the antique malls and checked their prices so things were high even for me as a collector and resale was out of the question..So I bought a few things I could afford The vintage bunny aboce made of tin...Hubby bought another plow....The red in the background is the plow he pulled out to put his new plow in it will go to fleamarket....

I bought this redware jug lamp I need a better shade for it.The neat thing is I had a best friend who's mom owned a shop The Rusty Nail it closed a few years ago.My friend died of cancer(she was in her early 30's) Well this lamp is from that shop so I'm happy to have the reminder..

Below two old composition animals I'm collecting for my Noah's Ark...

I bought a few other things too. They then left us tour their house..It was how I want to get my house Simple with only the best pieces so it showcases the best. They had old cupboards. The best graniteware the sweetest little one cup coffeepots(drooled a little),Wood Dough bowls, yellow ware,Pie cupboards but only nice pristine antiques.Wish I had my camera along..It was so beautiful..For some reason alot of people give me and hubby tours I don't ask they offer.I think it's because we are friendly and show a respect for the things of a gone by era...Below is my Tulips today. We finally had a spring day here but it's getting cold again for the weekend...

Hope you all are having a wonderful day.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Old Dolls and Chit Chat

Good sunday morning! Well I fell like a zombie..You know going through the motions but in a daze.I've been pulling myself in too many directions. It's my nature I like to push to get things done but never realize when it's done there is always something else waiting...smile...So I'm saying starting tomorrow I'm taking a few me days to work on swaps, have some leisure time and do some things I enjoy...Been cold, wet and windy here.Today I have to get my taxes done and will be going to grandma's farmhouse which will be so nice to have someone cook for me and relax with family...I did get a few sales in this week. The best was a old barn sale down a long country road that we stumbled on by accident, got some nice old prims but haven't got pics yet.I also bought these early dolls they are victorian era late 1800's or early 1900's.They have bisque heads and sawdust, rag and staw stuffed. They have their original clothes. One has composition hands the other bisque.I don't normally collect dolls but these are neat so going to hold on to them for awhile.Been working on this shelf two weeks..LoL.. want it to be perfect with only things I love...

Look at the detailing on the old dresses...
even original old stockings....
Still working on the remodel. It's coming along and I'm getting rid of stuff slowly, trying hard to keep only what I love but seem to keep bringing stuff home..smile...I'm working on swap stuff.Been sewing (yes I stitch occasionally but don't enjoy it normally only for me or swaps),been pouring lots of beeswax, painting and shopping...Got my seeds started inside we don't plant till the end of may here.We got the garden tilled over and the spring onions and lettuce started.I plan to plant extra at grandma's this year so I can do a ton of canning.I tried canning last year time consuming but so worth it.My mom and step dad bought me a "real" canning pot and the ball mason recipe book and jar lifters for christmas because last year I kept calling to borrow her stuff and had a ton of questions. So this year I'm ready and excited. Before I froze everything but love seeing all the pretty jars in the cupboard...Hope you have a relaxing sunday.Warm Blessings!~Amy
