Just stopping in to say Hi!

Been Busy but wanted to stop in and say Hi! Cold and Blustery today so I'm taking a PJ day. Yesterday was 58 degrees now today back to the teens. I think I'll bake a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.Yummm. The old F&F Jemima and Moses remind me of Grandma's kitchen cupboard.I always as a child peeked in to see her mix match of collections.(Still do..smile..) Old Gurley candles, egg cups, pixie elves, chenille bunny and plastic nutcups.Oh the wonders! Anyway back to the F&F's they were given as premiums at the old mercantile many years ago. Grandma said that Aunt Bert(my great aunt) had the whole collection but in the 1960's when they had the race riots she took all hers to the dump. Grandma only has a few pieces.I'm still building my collection.I have the two sets of S & P and the syrup pitcher.I would love to have the cookie jar and spice set. They also made other premiums like the Ralston Purina Dog and Cat and the Cool Penguins. Well girls hope you are all having a great week.I'm with the rest of you hoping for spring. I was out in the yard yesterday and see the tulips are pushing up. Yay! Warm Blessings!~Amy

Morning Amy, wonderful collection to start. I too remember my Grandma having the Salt and Pepper Aunt Jemima and Moses inside her little white cupboard. I have a set now just because of that memory. Great post, would love a piece of that carrot cake too :) Blessings Francine.

I know I have seen at least one of those at a sale somewhere, they are such sweet pieces.

It's definitely cold here this morning in KY, it's been up and down.

Blessings

Your Aunt Bert sounds like a lovely, sensitive person. It was in 70's here a few days now down to 30's, but going to warm up tomorrow again. We are all ready for the beautiful spring days ahead, aren't we?

Sounds like you have a great start on your collection. It was 69 degrees here on Tuesday, then very cold with some snow yesterday, and today it is sunny, but cold...29 degrees. No flowers popping thru the ground here yet.
hugs,
Cindy

That is a wonderful way to start a collection. I'm drawn to sewing items like flies to honey, in part I think because my granny was a seamstress. I wish now I had some of the Barbie clothes that she made me or the wedding/prom dresses I remember her sewing for clients. I could sit quietly but never touch the material or bother the girls there for fittings. She always made sure I had some fabric I could "sew" and she had this huge butlers pantry just filled with fabrics, patterns and thread for me to choose from. I miss those simple days!
