New Washing Machine

Well hot here again. It's ok I can wait a little longer for fall.As most of you know I go out every week in the summer and pick.Well I stopped at a sale and bought a few things. So hubby says to the lady I see the house is for sale are you getting rid of anything else? She says come in I have a washer for sale.I think boring and just stay out and look some more.So hubby comes out and says I think you better go look.I say I don't want a washer. So he talks me into going and looking.Well I say I gotta have it but I don't have enough money so have to run back and get money and come back in a few hours.Soo here is my new washer. It even has the original labels and runs perfectly.I fit it in the kitchen took some rearranging but it's in there..It was so heavy to move....

So then the lady says I have some things upstairs since you like this stuff. So went up and dug through the loft.I bought a bunch more stuff from there. Then she offers me a set of 100 year store scales so I tell her I'm broke till monday. She says no problem I'll hold them. Then monday we dug some more.So she says she is going to sell most of the house off once the house sells. She kept my # and will call.Oh my she has some wonderful stuff.I kept a old dough bowl as well..I love running into sales like that. The ones you just bump into and become fast friends and get the good stuff..smile..
So this weekend is the last hooray of summer. We'll probly just have a cook out and keep it simple...Not much going on here.Just wanted to stop in and say Hi! Also wanted to introduce you to a sweet new blogger http://hickorycreekprims.blogspot.com/ stop over and say welcome to Melissa.Hope you all have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!~Amy

Wow Amy!!!! Love it when stuff like that happens. That washing machine is a beauty. Can't wait to see you dough bowl.
So love the 3 day weekends but in our area it is unusually hot and can't be outside, and I have a ton of yardwork to do.
Enjoy yours.

Wow, Amy, Awesome finds!!! After, talking to you about how you find and pick your items, hubby got lucky!!! A friend at work needed help moving a piece of antique farm machinery on his family farm that was started in the 17803!!!! The original home cabin is still standing!! And the home that was built in 1840, barns, original outhouse, sawmill, and other buildings! Theses buildings were never painted and they are still standing, no signs of wear or tear except for a leaking roof in one spot in the barn!! The cut the trees and used the sawmill they built to process the logs. Something about cutting the trees at the right the time of year! The original farm was thousands of acres but has been sold by other family during different times in history so now only 77g acres are left and two heirs, a brother and sister who can not afford to buy each others part and instead of keeping it for future generations they are going to take what they want and sale the rest! Would love to win the lottery so we could purchase it and just keep it the way it is for now! OH well, dream big Right!!!! But hubby gets first choice to purchase all the original items still in the 1780 cabin and the 1840 home and all of the buildings which includes crocks, jugs, jars, wood boxes, rain barrels, original hand built cabinets and doors!! I get to go back and help pick then go the items we want to purchase!! Oh my!!!! Hubby has agreed to help pull out and hall the stuff his stuff for payment for the stuff we want!! Win Win!!!! Have a great weekend! We are going out of town this evening we our daughter and son-in-love and then going to our local fair tomorrow night or Monday night! It is still hot and humid here in our part of the US!! So, ready for cool temps and no humidity!
hugs,
Lynn

'Love the washer Amy! My grandmother actually used an old wringer-type one similar to that one. Very cool piece of history there :)

Great find Amy. I would probably have had to keep it too.
Sounds like you guys are making out well. Been busy trying to get my stock built back up. Never ending battle, but I'm not complaining.
Went to an auction a few weeks ago and purchased an old wool braided rug in brown tones and a jelly cupboard from circa 1780's. now I need to figure out where to put them. Like you, my house is packed with stuff.
Have a great week!
Love ya's, Jean
