Tuesdays Display Chain ~ Patina

Today's display chain theme is Patina....Lots of pretty patina here..Aged salt glazed pitcher, Hand carved heart I think it's a butter mold...Rusted arrow...New walnut stained pinkeep... Yes I love old churches and cemetaries..Wonderfully aged and weathered....

old tin thing I found at the fleamarket..Dated 1800's on the top not sure it's purpose yet ..I think maybe it held kerosene for the lamps...

Old traveling apothercary box.Perfect patina on the wood and latches...

A peek inside...

Weathered old tin type and bowl...

Old copper snuff/tobacco box or tinder box has original glass burning lens inside....

Homeless objects hung on the sunporch ceiling.Love the chair and red wheelbarrel patina...

Another well weathered metal arrow.....

Hope you enjoyed my displays. My favorite patina's are on old cupboards and wood trenchers but no time to dust today so I showed some other favorites.Visit Misi at http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2011/07/patina-presentspuppy.html to see the other links.Warm Blessings!~Amy

I love how you have things hanging from the ceiling! So clever! I can do that in the summer kitchen but not here in the house; popcorn ceilings. I hate them.
The apothecary box is of great interest, also. I'm seeing some great and unusual antiques today, things I've never seen before.
I have a lot of pictures of cemeteries and some tombstones in particular. Like Al Capone, Jayne Mansfield, etc. In a small town near here ( Salem ), there is an older tombstone marked 'Alice Cooper'. I do like to walk through cemeteries, reading markers and trying to picture the residents of these spaces. Too macabre? I hope not....
I love your patina! Remember--'Dust is a protective coating for fine antiques.'

Good Morning Amy,
Thanks for sharing so many great patinas with us this morning. What fun to "see" some out-of-the-ordinary things...like the old apothecary box (LOVE it) and the snuff box (wonderful).

I too am fascinated by old cemeteries, headstones and mourning art. I lived behind a beautiful cemetery growing up and used to walk there...I was a strange kid. LOL

Dusting...what's that?

Hugs, Rhonda
