Tuesday's Display Chain ~ Sewn or Stitched with Love

Today's display chain theme is sewn or stitched with Love.. This theme had so many images and thoughts that came to mind could have branched out in so many differnt directions..I could have posted 100's of pics but selected a few of my favorites...Below is the old iron stone bowl and pinkeep I bought at the antique mall Sunday.I don't sew much but adore old pinkeeps and sewing items.I can sew just not my favorite past time...
Beeswax pinkeep...

Love the old school girl stitcheries...So valued a craft in days gone by...
My old strawberry emery used to keep needles sharp...
Well loved antique baby bib all handstitched...

Our beloved American Flag..Stitched with pride, hope, faith and love....
We all know my love for old images.Love the pics of children with Toys..Some store bought treasures..Some stitched by momma's hands from the scrap basket but all so appreciated in early days...
Don't forget you can always click my images and zoom in for a closer look....
Gotta include the wonderful old Topsy Turvy doll....So loved by plantation children and still loved today....

This is the reason I started blogging to meet so many kindred spirits stitched together with the common thread of Love.Hope you enjoyed my chain. Now visit our host Misi http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2011/01/january-18th-display-theme-sewn-or.html and visit the other people who joined in today.Warmest Blessings!~Amy

A little stir crazy!!

Ever get a little stir crazy? Mine normally only happens in the summer as I want to be out doing things and there is never enough time.Normally in the late fall and winter I'm perfectly content nesting at home.Yesterday I wanted to junk, yardsale or auction sooo badly! Well it's like 18 degrees and sunday and winter snow on the ground.I'm sure some nuts errr I mean die hards would have been at the fleamarket but no way do I think it is worth it(yes I've slipped around in the ice a few times to see) I find that anyone with good junk won't be out there.I know you can find lots of "goodies" on the internet but it's not the same as touching and looking and finding that forgotten treasure stuffed in amongst junk for pratically nothing. So I decided the antique mall it was...I didn't find much but it got me out and about...I did find the little egg basket in the last pic,it's smaller than most.I also bought and old ironstone bowl and pinkeep I'll share tomorrow.....So I've also been crafting alot since I'm in a few swaps but did manage to get something done for me to...Below is a solid blackened beeswax pineapple I made..I've wanted one for me for awhile and finally got it done.... I love old photos and have boxes of them.Love this one.Click on to zoom in and see all the prim goodies...I love getting glimspes of early america...
My little junking find..Any ideas what to use it for? not magazines I've got enough baskets of those.Maybe old mashers, dishtowels or vegi basket...

Just a reminder to sign up for my giveaway the link is at the top sidebar...just 4 more and I'll have my 150 followers.Hope you have a wonderful week! Warm Blessings!~Amy

The ride to a friends

Went to visit our friends today and I snapped a few pics to share along the way.It is mostly rural country roads to their house and it was a little icy so I took these from the car window.Enjoy the ride....Beautiful stone meeting house church dates back to the late 1700's it is so well upkept and I am so glad that someone is preserving it's history...
Cemetary attached to the old meeting house.....Love the old iron fence...The sun was just coming up for the winter morning...
There are beautiful stone houses all along the way........
The sheep farm most of them were inside today..
I love this house it's colonial prim.Main house with 3 huge additions..Part of the house is for rent. I'm so tempted to inquire about the apartment just so I can get a glimsp inside.LoL...

These last two pics didn't come out well it's the gate to the wildlife preserve/hunt club. The animals are all hand carved with such detail.I'll have to try again on my next trip....
You can always click pics and zoom in...
Our friends live way out in the country and are restoring a old farmhouse. They are living in a trailer while they restore the main house.Once it's restored I'll share some pics but right now it's basically a construction site.Hope you enjoyed our morning drive.I so enjoy all the views and will share more when it's not so icy and I can get out and take more pics.Warm Blessings!~Amy
