Tuesday's Display Chain ~ Love

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong doing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Todays display chain theme is Love...Here are a few things I love...History especially if it's my own.....
Chocolate...Yummm.....

A sentiment from a loved one....
Cookies actually any sugar will do...
Fresh Flowers...Prefer handpicked and simple....

Jayson sneaking cupcakes....Hmmm wonder how they knew?

Doggy butts....My view from my computer room window..At least I'm loved....
Simplicity....

Vintage cuteness...

Because Kindness Matters

So many days I find myself looking for the simple things in life. The nostalgia days.Days when people knew that simple friendliness made the differnce.A simple gesture could help a troubled neighbor...What happened to the days of Front Porch Sitting on a warm summers eve.....

Sharing a glass of sweet tea after a hard days work....
Children who knew how to imagine, make believe and really have fun and play...

Taking the time to write a heartfelt letter....

Summer fun...

And church picnics...

Talking and a little gossip over the fence...
We all really just need to slow down and enjoy the sweet simplicity of life.If we all just took the time to say Good Morning..Hello...Can I give you a hand....Put the cell phone down at the grocery store and help the ederly lady who can't reach the top shelf...Smile at the grumpy person who's had a bad day...Let the house cleaning go and have a tea party with your daughter...Hug your hubby when he comes home and ask about his day....Remember to say I love you before it's too late...Simple acts of kidness can make so much of a differnce to a person. There are so many people out there who that little act can change the course of a day or even a lifetime knowing you cared...Because Kindness Really Does Matter!! ....So another point of this post I decided to add my email to the blog so you can reach me easier if you need anything or just want to chit chat and say Hi! I also started thinking about Random Acts of Kindness back around Thanksgiving and decided I was going to start using them daily but I want to go a little further with it.....
I want to include you my kindred friends who are not close to home..I want to send a occasional little gift, a card or maybe just a email to let you know your thought of.I may never get to everyone like I said it will be random.I don't want people to sign up just to get something for free,I want you to sign up because our friendship matters.I expect nothing in return..If you'd like to be on my list just email me your address my email is cottageprims@hotmail.com Warm Blessings!~Amy

Swap from Brenda!!!

Tam over at http://aprimitiveplace.blogspot.com/ recently held a prim swap. One requirement was to include a handmade doll.My partner was Brenda http://pinetreeprims.blogspot.com/2011/01/swap-items-received-amy-spoiled-me.html Let me tell you Brenda was soooo fun to swap with! Not because she sent great goodies which she did,but because we actually got to know each other. She and I communicated and talked through the whole time we were getting our gifts together. Most swaps I've done I got one email at the begining and one at the end which is fine but it was alot more fun to joke and talk in between.Ok enough chit chat on to the wonderful items... Above is the plain prim prairie doll. She fit perfect with the heart my sil jean made. She has a stitched pocket that reads Every Day is a Blessing...Below are some other goodies she sent. She went above and beyond we were only supposed to send a doll and two other items....
Crow/pear nodder,notepad,painted tiny windchimes,prim kitty,tiny dressform,pineapple candle mat,she also sent some chocolate and these......

Oh my goodness! George Washington is one of my favorite things!!!! They are resting on a prim tuck pillow...I loved my goodies from Brenda, she put so much thought into them and became a dear friend in the process (the best gift of all)...Thanks Brenda for the wonderful time and prims. Thanks Tam for hosting it was really fun! Warm Blessings!~Amy

Tuesday's Display Chain Sentiments

Todays display chain theme is Sentiments..I don't have alot of heirlooms that are families as I'm lucky to have most of my loved ones with me still making memories.I do have a few things but they are packed away right now so I'll share some gatherings of other peoples sentiments...Above...I could make up a million stories here.Beautiful old painted portrait..Fabric covered journals...Mother of pearl opera glasses love the bee on the clasp to the holder...Old pinkeep..
Below..One of my favorites old hand carved trencher, oh the handcraftsmanship .. the woman in her cabin kitchen kneading and rising bread for her family..Old butter paddle to make some butter to go with the bread.Heart cutter so the family knew the cookies were made with love..The wood mold I haven't figured out it's use yet I think butter but not sure much love went into making it though and even the intial inside the heart...
But if you asked me what I'm most sentimental about it would be sundays with the family at grandma's old farmhouse....
My sweet nieces Hannah and Brianna.....
A hubby who will cook for me while all my little furbabies watch in hopes of a nibble....

Well we are expecting a major ice, sleet and snow storm and they are telling us to be prepared for no power and stay home.A little scary but I'm prepared so we'll be ok just maybe without a few comforts.Sounds like a good time to read by candle light with some warm tea....Hope you enjoyed my display for this week. Now hop over to our host Misi http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2011/02/tuesday-display-chain-displayed.html to visit everyone else's links.Be Safe and Warm!~Amy
