Oh, this sounds like such fun!
5 days, ending on Labor Day, is Midwest Old Threshers is in MT Pleasant--every year for over 50 years. This means garage sales, flea market, antique booths, swap meets and over 200,000 visitors. Country music shows and unbelievable food--more like the State Fair than anything. 1000's of tractors and the HOUR of POWER every day at noon. Vendors displaying their talents and their products. The Log Village where everything is done like it was in 1840 when the town was settled. Men and women dressed in period costumes, sewing, making apple butter over an open fire in a big black cauldron. The gunfight in old town every other hour, all day long. A real steam train circling the fairgrounds, an electric train on another track and horse drawn ground trains to take you any where on the fairgrounds. And, again, awesome food everywhere on the fairgrounds.....
Since we live here, we avoid going to town for the whole week! And all the prices at garage sales are too high during this time. Not enough bargains to warrant putting up with the traffic and parking issues! Yet, the same people come here every year as their yearly vacation, plus plenty of newbies.
Maybe we will wander out for the Luthern Church beef and noodles dinner and the Marty Stuart concert.....
Looking forward to seeing your goodies!
