Daydreaming on the Porch

Everyone dreams of a little respite on a lazy summer day or a little sunshine streaming in during a long winter.Lucky for me I have a sun porch with big windows to let gentle breezes cool you in the summer and a warm heater for cool fall mornings. I always daydream about this area but normally it's piled with things I bring home.I clean it out but it gets filled fast.My goal this summer is to get it perfect.Pick up things while at fleamarket and sales.I've got some wonderful things already.I also don't want it prim or colonial..I'm looking for cozy farmhouse, french cottage not too cluttered a place for pure relaxing..Here are my inspirations and dreambook....
Love the window shelf, wide board floors and chippy whites....This is one of my favorites and I have most of the decorating things shown already....

Simple and comfortable....

Love the airy feeling of this one would be bright and cozy year round..simple and organized with the cubby basket shelf...

Here are a few elements that inspire me...Comfy chair to read away a afternoon..Blanket to curl up in on a chilly morning..Loving the whites and reds together with some chippy and wood....

Big soft throw pillows and of course I love bees....

Rustic garden elements like child's wheelbarrels (got this type thing ready and waiting)

Of course I need a small space for some light refreshments and gossip with a friend....

Got plenty of these..Yes liking the garden french farmhouse style..Is that a style?

I say style is whatever you love but that's a differnt post entirely..smile...Would love to hear your idea's the room is long and medium wide big enough to fit stuff but I don't want alot of fuss and clutter just want it relaxing..I got a good jump on "stuff" to decorate it.Also if you know of any good sources for the feed sack pillows at resonable prices not the burlap though I don't want to be itchy..giggle..Also looking for a good source for curtains and indoor/outdoor large throw rugs.Hope you enjoyed daydreaming on the porch with me.Your welcome to come for a visit when it's done..smile..

Love that first porch picture. I have a 3 season porch. I would love to have my porch look like that, but it stores all our extra stuff. Every time I clean it out, it gets filled up again. I've finally given up. I can't wait to see what yours looks like when finished.

Have a wonderful day~Becky

Hi Amy, I'll be there!! Sounds so cozy and inviting. Love all the inspiration pics. I have a small porch that I hope "someday" will be finished and I can decorate it. Still working on the outside of our house, should I say...still waiting to work on the outside of our house.8-) Too much other stuff going on for Hubby to have time. One of these days though.
I bet you could find some feedsacks at the fleamarkets you go to and pillows would be easy to make if you sew.
Have a great day dreaming of your porch.
Blessings,
Lorna

Porch sitting would be one of my favorite things to do, I have no porch, just lots of benchs around the house and gardens. Love feedsack pillows also, I haven't found where to get them. I like a place to be relaxing and calm, not a lot of fuss either. Can't wait to see what you come up with, I will just have to enjoy your porch. Vicky

That sounds just dreamy!! I'm loving everything you're suggesting and visualizing...I definitely would vote for the little daybed/chaise in front of the window tho - like in the first photo &/or the 3rd. What a heavenly place to drift off with a soft breeze after a day of gardening or junking! Homedecorators.com has a nice selection of indoor/outdoor rugs (Plow and Hearth has a few too I believe)...Throw pillows - I've seen some from Elaine at Catspaw Primitives (Ebay Id: 6stringbluesman) - but I'm sure you know that already...Oh and some artist-done ones at Red Rooster Bed and Breakfast. Curtains...well....I'm still on the hunt for those myself! Good luck - can't wait to see where your dreams take you! Smiles & Hugs, Robin

I'm so loving the first picture ~ I could dream in there all day, no I take that back all week!
You could make your own feed sack looking pillows, just download graphics and print onto osnaburg fabric. What ever you do, it will look spendid!
