Ever just wonder why ya love it?

I'm a prim girl but....Occasionally I stray.I fall for something and just don't know why I love it.Sometimes is Romantic and Shabby or sometimes it Nostalgic Kitsch.Every once in awhile it's just that odd thing you come across that makes you smile..Case in point with my old veggie people collection. It started on a ordinary yardsale day for me about 2 years ago.I was at the sale and the pineapple and corn S&P and oil and vinegar were there. The elderly lady said~ oh I had those since I was first married.Well they were neat and the price was right so I bought them with the intention of reselling but...They caught me I fell in love with their whimsy so in the hoosier they went. Then came the children I found the radish head baby s&p in a antique shop and the squash head ones at the fleamarket. So now I search these out but they have to have that certain whimsy that just catches me.They make me smile. Then of course there was this.Who could resist.....The Adventures of Susie Squash it ran in a ladies magazine in the 1930's era it was the only one I've ever come across but I'd love to find more.Tooo sweet!

So what's your odd thing that makes you smile? Warm Blessings!~Amy

I like a little of this and that. It really doesn't have to have a theme (country, prim, etc.). It just has to make me happy.

okay don't laugh, but i used to have my son's discarded rubber toy alligator (whom i called *green bean*) i'd find him-it in all different places and i'd always smile and feel happy. i said don't laugh. :))

I love the veggie people. They're so cute! For me, it's the bright colors of majolica pottery that gets me out of prim mode. It's usually marked more than I'm willing to pay, but I've managed to haggle a couple of pieces away from some kind flea market folks.
