Some Catching Up

Well Christmas has come and gone.I'm never quite prepared for the arrival the last few years. It was spent at Grandma's old farmhouse cluttered with family but cozy being surrounded by the ones you love. News Years resolutions and goals have been set mostly the same every year but this year I'm going to really make the efforts..smile... Everyone picks a word nowadays so mine I've decided will be "Let Go" which is very hard for me.I hold on to things and have a hard time with forgiveness. I'm the type of person who always does the right thing and I expect others to as well, but I've come to realize that others aren't me and aren't giving a second thought to what they've done.I need to learn to let go of the anger and hurt and move on. It really hurts no one but yourself. I won't let people continue to cause conflict or Drama though I'm just going to move on and not let them intrude on my happiness. Anyhow I'm making really good strides on this already with one person... I'm a baby steps person so little by little.....
So before Christmas Misi  and I exchanged gifts. I am so lucky to have such a sweet friend. She truly is a thoughtful and giving person. All wrapped so beautifully but I forgot to take pics but it was made so special... Everything smelled of cinnamon and pine..I received not 1 but 2 of her beautiful handcrafted boxes!!!! This beautiful dome one will stay out all year. You'll see it when I show my Valentines decorating....
These Georges will be wonderful for a small summer feather tree or patriotic banner....
Love everything!! Big Hugs sweet friend!!!   I always love this time of year. Some time to nest and just enjoy the simple things...Read, Dream, Cook,Bake and enjoy the little things we are normally to busy for...Thank You to all the girls who sent prayers and well wishes for Dad. He is still in the hospital but out of critical care. His low  blood pressure has been stabilized and now he is fighting the pneumonia  it takes a little more for his body since the cancer but he will be Ok.. Looking forward to tomorrow my first yard sale of the year. It's in a fire hall thankfully because it has been freezing. Well friends hope you are staying cozy! Warm Blessings!~Amy

A good choice for this years resolution.... one I should try, as well. I have a terrible time letting go of hurtful things people have done/said to me... I need to learn to move on! Great gifts from Misi! Love the boxes she makes. Prayers for your dad.

I'm glad your dad is better.
And yep...you gotta let go and forgive...it's easier said than done...been there done that...but when you give it all over to God and really really forgive...oh my, the difference it makes in your life!

Don't let others steal your joy and blessings sweetie. That just gives them power over you.

Big 'ol hugs and prayers to ya sweetie!

Blessings

oh amy.. I am with you on Letting it go. Last year I was hurt badly by my best friend who happened to be my boss. I tried to be a good person.. but I still dwell on how badly I was used and make a fool of.. by someone that I loved and trusted. Kinda sucks. I too, am still working on letting it go. It's better.. but sometimes.. errrrr. lol.

Have a great weekend.. stay strong, and you will "let go."

Good for you. I have an easier time forgiving than forgetting, just always keep "it" a little bit in the back of my mind and let it find it's way up front periodically…not always good.

Glad to hear Dad is doing better, that lifts a bit of weight.

Looking forward to the Spring swap. Hoping to participate in that one if life permits!

I hear where you are coming from Amy! A few years ago, I was in a predicament that left me bewildered! I was becoming a bitter old soul...and who wants to hang out with a bitter old soul? Nobody! You do have to let it go; it's not easy, but life goes on and you want to be part of it.
" it/they will, pull you down if you let them. Don't !
Become the one who says...STOP ! It Stops here and now. And let it go! You are so much better than " that"
You have so much talent. Use it and keep being creative!
Wonderful gifts you received there! Friends! Where would we be without them! Take good care and have a wonderful week...hugs Marg:)

Very nice gifts. I agree, just "Let go" of the things that want to drag you down and consume you. Life is too short for that. I haven't visited in so long and it is good to hear that your dad is still with us. Are you still going to the flea mkt in Williams GRove and selling?

Good luck and baby steps are the best way to accomplish any thing. My word is kind. I see so much unkindness it hurts. I can imagine the fun you have at your grandma's old farmhouse.

Hi Amy...the other day I came across this saying on Pinterest . I hope it helps....
Two things to Remember in Life" Take care of your thoughts when you are alone," and " Take care of your
words when you are with people. "
If more people thought about that, there wouldn't be the misery there is out there. We would all treat people exactly how we want to be treated.
I hope your Dad is doing better.
Hugs Marg.

Morning Amy,
Great post - I so feel like you. Dragging around an attitude or not forgiving someone just hurts yourself...good for you.
Oh what wonderful treasures from Misi. She is always so generous with her gifting.
Sending many prayers for your father.
Blessings this whole new year
