Simple Ramblings From A Prim Cottage

I was teased by Old Man Winter

Thursday and Friday were just beautiful days here in Pennsylvania. We had temps in the mid 60's.Sun was shining.Dogs got extra long walks..I opened the windows and got some cleaning done..Which got me in the mood for tweaking and putting some of my new stuff out..But old man winter tricked us because Saturday was 50 mph winds our electric went out like 5 times. The rest of the week is supposed to be cold with snow and rain..Friday I had to go run errands and decided to stop at a local country shop to look around. When I got home there was a box from my sister in law Jean http://primcrafts.blogspot.com/ We've been swapping prim goodies. If you're Reading Jean Happy Birthday!!! I had bought a few things at the shop and with the goodies she sent I decided to go ahead and get my spring stuff out.So it may still be winter outside but it's warm and cozy inside...... Beeskeep and old wire garden carrier...They'll stay out till fall....I have wool stuck inside the pots and some eggs, rooster and chick...
The sweet prim bunny and carrots in the basket were from the swap with Jean...I love the prim bunny she out did herself on him! The blue bonnet I bought from my friend Lecia http://farmhouseprims.blogspot.com/ behind the angel is a gift she sent recently a prim ditty bag.....

Antique chalkboard gets changed out each season....

I bought the new mat for under the bowl on my trip friday.....
Little beeswax bunny I made...
I needed something for the front door so I bought this friday too..Old shutter with burlap and pretty flowers.I liked this because it can be left out all summer and it won't hurt to get a little dirt...

And last but not least I found this wonderful antique 3 gallon crock.I love the wreath around the 3 and that it has handles. It was in great shape with no cracks or chips.I paid $40 for it which I thought was a steal since it is blue decorated...

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! I noticed I'm over 200 followers.Welcome to all my new friends! I'll be doing a giveaway hope to get it posted wednesday.I'm making the goodies for it now and should be ready to post by then. Hoping to talk hubby into taking me to maryland this afternoon for a little antiquing. The twins are at girl scout camp today so mom and the girls won't be out Grandma's my sis and nephew won't make it and my cousins have to work so I might not go out today, especially if I can talk hubby into a little day trip.Warm Blessings!~Amy

What a great display of decorations to lift my spirits. I know what you mean about being tricked by winter. I think you have inspired me to get some things out also and start Spring early in my house. Linda

Hi Amy,
I love the burlap shutter door greeting! I love all of your decorating!
It is inspiring me to dig out a few spring things around here too!
I like the way you've hung your hooked rug on the old boards instead of directly on the wall......... really neat idea! Hope you keep on sharing more great views of your home and primitives!
Hugs!

HI Amy
I love how you can go from state to state on a day trip. I quote " Hoping to talk hubby into taking me to maryland this afternoon for a little antiquing" Just made me smile. I HOPE YOU GOT TO GO!

Wal-mart for me is 50 miles away! With scant in between! Well, gas stations and car washes....maybe a video store and a few grocery stores....car dealers oh ya, a bowling alley and some fast food joints. Is this a bleak picture? lol ( this is driving east which is the most fruitful as far as commerce goes)
I enjoyed seeing your spring goodies. :-)
Congrats on your followers!
Enjoy
Mercy

Hi Amy, love your spring goodies. The bunny is adorable!! I didn't realize ya'll were SIL's. I really like that shutter with the burlap, I have some old shutters and now I have an idea to use them.8-)
Hope you got your day with Hubby. Another state for me is about an 8 hour drive, one way!!8-) I'm like Mercy, I drive about 50 miles to Walmart.8-)
Hubby and I went antiquing while we were in East Texas and on our way home. We had such fun!! Vowed we would do that more often.
I need to post the treasures I found, will do that soon.
Have a great day!!
Blessings,
Lorna

OMG Amy, how did I miss this post, you sure have a knack for decorating. You put my decorating to shame. It is really like looking at the pages in a magazine!!! I love how you have everything displayed. The bonnets look awesome hanging you your rack.
And I love the bunny from Jean. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures, come decorate my house. LOL, Lecia
