Simple Ramblings From A Prim Cottage

Love is in the Air and Why Blog?

I think decorating for every season or holiday is a prim thing.I know most people around here or that I know don't.I'm one of those people who like to make everything special so it just goes along with that too...One thing I associate with Valentines is a yummy decadent dessert.Got any ideas or special ones you make?
The weather is frigid here this week.Good week for nesting,Pj days, reading, crafting, movie marathons and comfort food. Just some Lazy days.
We had some excitement yesterday morning our vehicles were riffled through. The person who did it even had the nerve to smoke I could smell it.They made a mess of the glove boxes but only got a few dollars in change.I was sooo happy they didn't take my GPS (need that for junking and adventures..smile) The neighbor didn't fair as well they stole his stereo out of his new truck and got his wallet he forgot under the seat.We live in a small town so things like this don't happen much.I'm a strong believer that what you put into the world is what you'll get back.People really need to start teaching children from a young age work ethics and pride. We wonder why the country is so bad? How do people learn values if never taught.Ok off my soapbox...
Wanted to thank all the girls who left sweet comments and emails.Betty at Through my back door ask Why Blog? Although I adore the wonderful decorating, and ideas.I think it's more because of the community and friendship. You get in a regular circle and those people mean as much as your best friend. They are your kindred spirits. They really get you, care about you, pray and send positive thoughts and share in joys as well as pain. It's a close knit friendship with people you probably visit more than you do people next door..smile..I'd have any of you over for tea and coffee(of course there would be cookies and cake silly)...Warm Blessings!~Amy

Morning Amy, I love to decorate to for the differant Holidays, but here not many people do either, oh welL....Love all your goodies you have out, bet that candle smells so good.......Thats terrible about the car break-in, boy, people have to raise their kids with a little more respect for other people`s things........I agree with you, such warm, wonderful friendships I have made with blogging, makes my heart happy, Blessings Francine.

Love your Valentine's header! I have a few old heart cookie cutters and would like to collect enough to fill my trencher--that's about all I'll be able to muster for Valentine's decorating this year I'm afraid! We can't leave our purses in our cars at church or the gym because there have been break-ins there--I don't think you can get away from it anywhere, unfortunately. So glad your GPS wasn't stolen! ~Roberta

That is why I am still blogging too Amy. I love the friendship and the decorating.
I aggree! Ethics needs to be taught early at home and continue through ones life. Amen

Hi Amy! Hope you are staying warm and glad you are safe and that nothing too valuable was taken. You are right about work - giving young people training in early years is better for society in later years.
Love all your hearts and you know I love visiting you even if you didn't have cookies!
Blessings

Hello Dear Amy,
I've been playing catch up here as I haven't blogged in a while. I want you to know you and your hubby are in my thoughts and prayers, I'm sorry you folks are going through a difficult time as are far to many these days.
As for the break in's I don't believe there are any safe places any more. From my experience folks just don't take time to be with their kids and teach them at a young age what is right and wrong. Hubby says times are tough and it is causing so many to step into doing things to survive and unfortunately most of it is not legal. Glad that you and your neighbors are physically ok though.
We've certainly had our share of very unfortunate circumstances in our community the last two weeks.

I've missed those friendships of blogging friends as I care about all of you and enjoy everything we share with one another.
Blessings and hugs to you Amy~

Sorry about your vehicles. You were lucky they left your GPS. Maybe they got scared off before having time to take it? We keep our cars locked all the time, even though its a small town. I got up one morning and my car wouldn't start. Popped the hood and the battery was gone! After that it is locked all the time.

Hi Amy, so glad your vehicle is alright. I love all of your prim decor, I like to change decor for the seasons, but I don't have much for Valentines Day.
I sure enjoy looking at yours though.
I blog for the wonderful prim friendships. And if I had never blogged I would have never have met you! Blogger friends are the best, hugs, Lecia

Oh, Amy, I do love you. I have missed being here, but I think I really needed some time away.
That stinks that someone was so needy or so criminal that they would rifle through your vehicles. I know what is wrong with society but I feel powerless to change it. I brought my kids up to believe in the good Lord and respecting all forms of life, saving to buy what you want instead of taking someone else's things. It scares me to think of what the future holds. In fact, it scares me to think of what the world has become. This is a mitigating factor when reconsidering to blog again. So few people in the world that I can relate to and feel safe sharing with. :)
My favorite Valentine's treat--red velvet cake with cream cheese icing!!!

Hi Amy,
Your displays are very pretty. Been thinking about Tom and praying something good happens that he can get some type of relief. I know it really weights on both of you.
Glad they didn't take much. This world has changed so much. Down here people are hoarding guns, because we live in a state that says they can with a permit carry a concealed weapon!! I don't like it.
I guess I'm just getting old~smile...
Well, just wanted you to know I've been thinking of you and pray things get better.
Blessings and hugs, Jean

Good morning Amy

I am so sorry to hear about your vehicles. We live in a small town too, and a few years ago we had a rash of break ins, of cars ans businesses. It was all the same kids, but the parents where no better than the kids. They did finally catch them. But I believe in Karma.
They got our stereo, and change etc, but the worse for me was I felt violated.
Keep your chin up Amy.
How's your hubby feeling ?

...Good Morning Miss Amy! *waving* So sorry to hear about your vehicle, just glad they didn't do any damage. We had that same episode happen around here not to long ago but the cars involved weren't "broken into" per se, the doors were left unlocked so the thieves took what they wanted without even having to try.

...I really don't do much decorating with each holiday with the exception of Halloween and Christmas but I do like to honor each Season's arrival with some decor placed thruout the house. Your decor is so sweet and prim' perfect, are you for hire? ;o)

...Oh I have to say that blogging buddies are the BEST! There's just some kind of connection that is hard to explain but it's there. You know down deep you are in the presence of a kindred spirit.

...Hope you have a wonderful day and I'll be talking to you later. :o)

...Blessings & (((hugs))) too.

...Oh, and I decorate for the patriotic holidays too. I forgot. :o)

Good morning Amy. Sorry to hear about your vehicles being broken into. That has happened to us several times as well. Things have been rambled through and nothing much taken other than my daughter's dvd player. Makes you so mad though. Hope you have a good day and stay warm!

Ooo how scary:{ Glad you had your doors to your house locked. I agree with parents teaching the children. Seems some think it's the schools job. It's very sad to see our society in this way. You can come over for some coffee cake too. I love my blogging friends and get so sad when they don't visit anymore or stop blogging. Thanks for being such a good friend.

Hi Amy,
"LOVE" to you. I love to decorate for every Holiday, but no one around here does it much anymore.Your header is wonderful. It is a shame people have to watch their possessions like a hawk. There is so much stealing going on everywhere. I live way back in the country, and have to pretty much bouble locl all the buildings, cars, and even the gas tanks on them. Even had to put security lights everywhere. Glad they didn't get much. Love you girl, and stay warm! Hugs,
Linda

So glad that they didn't take much from you, Amy! I have had my home burglarized twice (many years ago and not in the current house). It is an awful feeling to know that strangers walked in your house (or went through your car) and went through your things. They even dumped my clothing out of my drawers and took food out of my cabinets!!

Don't get me started . . . we could have a pot of coffee or two or more discussing the issues of today's world!

I am working on your goodies . . . I hope you like what I am going to be sending you!!!!

xoxo
Marsha

Hi Amy! It is great to be here visiting with you! I love the blogging friendships also. It has been terribly cold here also. The high yesterday was -4 and today we warmed up all the way to 1! LOL The wind died down some so that is good because we were having feels like temps of -25 to-35...BRING ON SPRING!

Love all of your cute decorations. I too love decorating for each holiday. I work at a Pharmacy and always get to do the displays so that is fun too.

Have a great rest of the week. Know you remain in my heart and prayers.
Be blessed,
Cindi

Amy I'm so glad the thieves didn't take much. It seems like crime is up every where....our area use to be pretty safe but now they've started breaking into cars by smashing out the windows. I don't leave anything in my car anymore. I think the economy and poor parenting are to blame.
Love your Valentine's decor....I don't decorate much for this holiday. I do have some stuff out though...just a touch of sweetness. :0)
