School Girl Sampler Help? and Coverlet
I recently came across this antique 1840 school girl sampler.I plan to have it framed and hang it it the living room.We don't come across these often in our area especially local ones so I don't know alot about them.I'm hoping one of you girls that collect them can tell me were you begin your research on the history or if you even bother since the family name and year is there. Is there anything special I should look at it in the lettering or symbols? Also what is the price range this should be valued at? It's aprox 18 inches both ways.I've wanted one of these for years and can't wait to get it hung. Close up of the name and date...
I also came across this coverlet. It's local as well and dated 1844. Measures 6 1/2 feet. Not sure if I'll keep this piece or not.I don't know how to care for it properly or display it. That it's local makes me think I should hang onto it but it just doesn't "catch" me yet.LoL. at over 170 years old they are both beautiful pieces of history....
Thanks ahead of time for any info on the sampler. If you feel better emailing me my info is on the sidebar. Hope everyone is staying cozy.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Hi Girls! Hope everyone is well. Well we've been in the artic blast and today it finally left but we are getting freezing rain so it's a slushy mess. Not much going on here which is a good thing usually life is such a whirlwind that I so love it when we are at a calm. The weekend is supposed to be rainy so saturday will be a pj day and have a few crafty things to work on while I catch up on some of my tv shows.Plan to make some peach cobbler muffins.I bought them when ever they had them at market (which was seldom) but just found a recipe so am excited to be able to have them when I want. They are Oh so yummy especially with some hot tea.I haven't been to grandma's since christmas because of the bad weather so sunday will be spent with family for sunday dinner at the farmhouse. If they are lucky I'll take some muffins.Just kidding I'll take them some too..smile...Wanted to remind anyone signing up for the swap your info needs to reach me by sunday morning. You can click on the sidebar to get the rules and info for the swap.Well hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!~Amy
