Hi Girls! Not much going on here.Saturday I didn't find anything at the antique mall.Hubby found another spinning wheel it has the original label on it.So he owns 2 now and has sold 2.I just rolled my eyes and said if you really want it.LoL..He's thinking he might sell they other one..Sunday we went to fleamarket to look around a little early yet but we've had a mild winter and I wanted to see what was going on.Did not buy anything.Sunday afternoon went to grandma's old farmhouse and Brianna came home with me.It was funny we were eating dinner and Brianna and I were talking because when we left grandma's we couldn't find Hannah(they walked down to the pound).Brianna said she needed a break from her sister. So then she was fascinated by old bullet pencils hubby had sitting on the table.She said oh they are antique.So we were talking about old stuff and I told her when I die her and Hannah can have all my antiques and "old" stuff and they could sell it and be rich.Brianna says No I'm going to live in your house and keep it all so I can remember you...She thinks most of it is neat...

Hubby is home for a few days.Thursday he starts a rehab house but in the mean time he'll take up my personal time.I have a few swap things to finish up.Oh goodness just realized what hubby is doing,flipping my old mercantile cupboard around.You know me I don't do well with change.He says the doors need to be were I can open them so I can fix my things easier when they shift.To me it'll be backwards but he is right because every time I move it to fix the stuff inside when I move it back it all falls over.Plus I don't like moving it much since it's so old and heavy....Trying to finish up a giveaway and hope to get it posted this week...Hope you all have a wonderful day!~Amy

Old Mercantile Cupboard

Good Saturday! Not much going on here.Windy and cold.Hoping we keep electric.Planning on a lazy weekend finishing up some swap stuff and a gift for a friend.Hubby needs to pick up a truck part and wants to stop at the antique mall.We have several close.The building didn't go through as there was to much that needed done and the realtor didn't think that he would be able to make a turnover on it,but the prayers and good wishes were not wasted as they are working out details on a regular house flip.A few of you have asked for a peek inside the old mercantile cupboard so here it is.. I've added more putz since these were taken..

Hippity Hop

Well since Old Man Winter has forgotten to do his job this year I figured I might as well start spring early too...Now that it's decorated it'll probably cause a snow storm..LoL.. I keep expecting that winter is coming late but since we are almost to march I'm having doubts. Above the display on top of the old mercantile cabinet..The bunny below I purchased over the summer not real old but well made.The lady said she bought it from Germany with her..It has a putz sheep and wood bunny in his basket....

The shelf I change for each season...The bunny in the blue coat I bought from Barefoot primitives to give as a gift but hubby loved him so I gave it to him....

Not much exciting this week. I was wrong about the real estate auction it's today.Hubby and I went and looked at it last night. So many beautiful details but huge.All of the stained glass they remove would definitely come home to me.Part of the building has a attached tobacco store/lunch counter that has been closed for years but still has some of the old signs on the wall.The realtor said it will have to go fairly low though because it needs so much work.I'm still so hopeful he gets it so I can explore every nook while hubby works.It's 3 stories and a block deep.Stuff has been left behind over the years.Well girls today I need to pour some orders and a gift or two.Plus I need to finish sewing up my bunny make do.Then I want to read some magazines.There's a new one out called The olden days it has some good prims and is the premier issue.I'm on the fence as it has potential but needs a few tweaks.The early prim pictures are wonderful though.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Weekend Finds

Good Monday! Yesterday Hubby and I went to the Antique Mall for the Cabin Fever Sale.Boy was it packed I don't like crowds like to look at leisure.I did spend about 2 hours looking found a few things but most were out of my budget but interesting to look at and dream.I did buy the the wonderful Wash Stand and hubby bought the old ringer.The stand was a fair price but she had 20% off and the mall gave a extra 15% off your purchase.Problem is though I just rearranged the whole living room and I have no clue were to go with it.I'm thinking a huge trencher would be great on it filled with prairie dolls but hubby is thinking a old wood wash tub and laundry display thus why he bought the ringer..I also went out to a local country shop a lady I know owns we had a nice chat and I picked up my linen towel to makeover for Kendra's swap and Simple Life magazine..I have 2 ideas for the towel but will wait to see who my partner is so I know what she likes..Saturday I bought the spring and Easter stuff down and put away the Valentines..Might as well have the spring stuff out since Old Man Winter seems to not want to stay for a visit...I just know we are going to give up and accept spring and then the blizzard will show up in April LoL....On another note if you read this early can you send up a little prayer.There is a historic building with a kitchen,dining room,ballroom and apartments going up for auction this morning.Pray that the realtor hubby does flips and restorations for gets it.It would mean 6 months steady work for hubby which will mean I will have more free time to help dad and more money to help him with what he needs...I'll be back soon with pics of the spring stuff.Hope you have a wonderful week!~Amy

The most recent Robin http://primitivehutch.blogspot.com/ You are supposed to pass it along but I've decided that if you want to do a post as a get to know you just grab the award and list 7 Random things we might not know about you....1) I was born in the north but raised in the south.My step dad built parts of Epcot and Disney Lane..I was a beach bum we were always taking the boat to the islands or visiting secluded beaches....

2) I love the "Old" ways of the south...

I relate to Southern Belles and sometimes get called princess because of my stubbornness and wanting things proper and certain ways....Southerners are also slower paced and enjoy tradition and friendliness....

3) I love to cook and bake..I love good food but mostly simple southern style food.I think food brings people closer and have fond memories of church picnics and family gatherings.We still gather on Sundays at grandma's old farmhouse for lunch/dinner....

4) I hate cellphones..I think when you are in the company of others or out doing things you should not be worried who might be on the line.They do have answering machines.You should be taking the time to watch the road while driving, enjoying time with friends,making polite contact with the person waiting on you.Yes cellphones are good for emergencies, a quick call if being late, or the kids or hubby checking in...
5) I live in the North now and love all four seasons...I enjoy each for what it offers but I LOVE SNOW..Goes with my nesting tendency.Nothing better than being snowed in for a lazy day and yummy food.Watching movies,crafting,or reading....

6) I believe strongly what you put into the world is what eventually comes back to you.I believe people should be happy with what they have and strive and work towards what they want or who they want to be...I also believe if you put bad out there it's going to come back to you...

I'm a giver and give freely of what I have..I care about people to quickly..And always try to be nice and optimistic.BUT Once I've been hurt,lied to or taken advantage of I hold grudges.I know this is a flaw in me but forgiveness is hard for me.It's a bad thing because it eats at you and sometimes makes you not the person you are.Learning forgiveness is usually on my daily prayer list but I still struggle....

7) I love history..Family, Antiques, Civil War, Colonial you name it I want to know about days gone by.I love simpler times

I also like folk lore,remedies and ghost stories.Spooky history of days gone by.Sometimes tragic sometimes romantic ..... Since I've had a few eerie encounters yes I believe...

Ok so it's supposed to be 7 but I have 8) I Love old abandoned houses and barns..It's the picker in me as well as the explorer,mixed in with that love for old and history...Yes I get excited seeing this on a back road or on property hubby is restoring...

I dream about what could be hidden behind the old gates.....

What treasures were left behind that we now adore but were cast offs and left to weather...

Sometimes inherited by family who is the can't buy it at Walmart must be junk generation....Sometimes left by the people many years before and forgotten..

I wonder what made them leave it behind.Secrets to open and treasures to find...Stories to unfold....

Wild n Crazy Valentine Bunch

Well girls seems like I haven't been posting as much.Just normal every day life keeping me busy..Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day.Hubby bought me a dozen roses and Dove Chocolate...The carnation was from my mom.

I'm not much of a flower girl.I like to grow them but the cost especially at Valentines drives me crazy.So many wonderful prims I could buy with it LoL.But I know it's his way of trying to say I Love You so I love them..smile...We had the wild bunch for movie night...Oh what mischief the 3 of them can get into....

My Favorite people in the whole world! We colored paper lunch bags and made special popcorn with all kinds of yummy mix ins...The girls got to add what the wanted from gummy worms to snowcaps. Yummy munchie food for our movie time....

Brianna thinking "Oh No! Not the camera again"

After everyone settled down we snuggled on the couch..munched..and watched a movie..Can't say I could have had a better Valentines....The next few days I'll be cleaning up my Valentines and bringing spring and Easter down.I'll be busy as usual with dad plus I have a small job outside the house I have to do.Occasionally I help hubby with his flips and remodels, so I have to clean and detail a house so it's showable by the end of the week.Plus I have some orders to finish and some swap goodies to work on.Hope you all are having a great week.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Hooked Rugs Girls and Snow

Hi Ladies! Hope you all are having a great week.Me? Busy as usual..So much so that I took the dogs to the vet on the wrong day.Lucky for me everyone cancelled with the snow and they were able to take me...smile..I love hooked Rugs and someday hope to hook my own but will be trying the punch needle first.Thought I'd share my collection with you...

Well we had steady snow all day yesterday didn't amount to much but it was lovely watching it all day...Maybe more for Saturday...

Me,Hubby and the girls went out to the pizza buffet last night.The girls both won happy feet stuffies.The pizza was hot and fresh too..The girls are getting so big! It's hard to believe they were only 2 lbs just a few short years ago.Hannah's Cerebral Palsy is started to be a little more evident as she is having some trouble with school.Brianna is excelling in everything.I had to laugh because they learned this Too sexy song and sing it.Hannah is saving for the CD but Mamaw told her it's inappropriate (her new favorite word) she is so cute when she says it....Hannah Honey Bunch....

Brianna on the run.She will not stand still or pose for pictures anymore..Love her brattiness so much like her Auntie when I was little...

I've had alot of beeswax and candle orders so that's been keeping me busy,plus dad's running and appointments.He was able to set up auction last Saturday so he was happy to get out of the house and work a little.It wore him out but it was good for him to be around his old crew and doing what he loves.It's blood count is good.Things are starting to look better but I know better with Cancer than to get to excited.Day by Day..Wanted to say Hi! to all my new followers as well.So thankful to have you and hope you enjoy my simple little life..smile..Warm Blessings!~Amy

Super Sunday

Good Sunday Friends! I don't get much into football but do love the food and commercials...I have cocktail smokies in the crockpot,a coconut cream cake and hubby is making chili so I'm covered if someone "drops" by...I plan to go to grandma's old farmhouse for Sunday Lunch/Dinner and to visit awhile..Yesterday was just a lazy day...

We got some surprise light snow.There is still a coating on the ground and a little snow supposed to fall today..Made my heart joyful being cozy at home with the snow lightly falling..I did some sewing (not my favorite thing) Did some make ~ do Bunnies but they are for swap gifts so I can't show them.They turned out cute but I think Mrs Granny Trace lied she told me sewing makes you not crave cookies..smile..Well I had a cookie and 2 dove dark chocolate cherry hearts.Granted it takes me forever to sew.I can sew just don't enjoy it....Friday Hubby got his tooth pulled but our regular dentist had the flu and since we are rural there was no other places that could take him so we had to drive 1 1/2 hours one way to go to the oral surgeon..The GPS took us down alot of wonderful back country roads.I didn't bring my camera but I know in reality hubby would not have accommodated the pull overs for pics anyway.He was in so much pain...

One ramshackle old farm had a barn falling down next to the road I could see it was stacked full with old galvanized wash tubs, wood buckets,tin feed signs pitter patter goes my picker heart if I can ever find that house again(yes we were very back road) I'll surely knock and ask what they are doing with that stuff.Then we drove past a antique barn and they actually had fleamarket vendors set up outside it about killed me not being able to stop.(Yes I know it was cold but there was ~~junk~~ treasure sitting on those tables) There were 2 big antique shops one in a renovated barn.I did get hubby to promise to take me on a day trip back there soon.(Although we will be broke for awhile LoL) The dentist was $400 not including 3 prescriptions and gas...He's still in pain but feeling better we are both people who try to tolerate pain as we don't like pills....On another note I remember doing punch needle when I was young and would like to learn again.Do any of you know of any vendors online that sell prim kits for beginners? I want the cloth already printed,the threads/floss and needle in one pack.I do have a small hoop already that came with a rug hooking kit.I want it easy to learn...Well girls hope you have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!~Amy

Saturday Find Rearranging and Prayer Answered

This week has flown by alot of good and bad this week but such is life.Saturday I went on my adventure...I found nothing but Hubby found this....

He liked the handle on it and the price was right it fits in nicely with his collection (it's the third one in)

We decided to also head to the city because this one store was having blow out TV deals and hubby has waited 4 years to buy a TV they had them really cheap at this store and We've had a 52 inch projection TV so we are selling that.Anyhow we missed the exit and ended up in the city.Hubby does not do well when lost,me not a big deal.(especially since I have GPS) He tells me to stop staring at people,well really I wasn't I was looking at the houses which had lovely details but alot were left to dilapidate and yes I might have looked at the man riding his bike drinking a 40 oz beer.Just me I like to look.For me I thought new things to look at.I also asked him to stop at one place and he said don't you watch the news? He said what street are we on? I told him and he said there were just 2 shootings last night on this street.Well my hubby is a big sturdy guy but he was right he definitely didn't fit in with his camo hat,hunting shirt and country boy style..LoL.. So we did find the place and hubby bought his TV which lead to me having to rearrange the whole living room.What I haven't figured out was the projection TV was much bigger and had a case built around it so I could display things.Well the smaller TV set the room off so I had to rearrange everything....Moved the large crock and box here.Also changed out the crocks under the spinning wheel...

So he comes home from work and see's everything stacked in the middle of the living room..I'm not good with change so it takes me awhile to decided exactly how I want things.Once I got things displayed I don't change often like alot of you except the seasonal areas.Anyhow he says You are not getting rid of all that it's your good stuff.LoL..Glad he realizes..smile..I explain that I'm just rearranging which he totally didn't get since the new TV is half the space as the old....Had to move the dough riser it was on the other side of the room....

This old shelf is were the TV sits on now.I'm still working on the displays in there..The other problem was the horse.I've always displayed him with the rocker off.Well hubby decided about 2 weeks ago to put the rocker on.I appreciate that he notices and takes interest in things I love so when he does things I try not to be negative but the rocker takes up alot of room so it took some finagling to.(is that a real word?)

So the pitch fork,horse,firkin stack and jug got moved to this side of the room.Ignore the tape measure it's not part of my decor just needed it to help figure space..smile...

So now the house is back together...Wanted to update you on dad the prayers must have worked the new lump is not a tumor they said it is a side effect from the chemo.Thank goodness! Hubby's friend was in a bad accident this week he is going to live but will probably be in the hospital 6 months sad as he has a baby due this week..Hubby also had a tooth break so today we are trying to get him into the oral surgeon he is in so much pain.I'm not looking forward to the cost as we do not have insurance.Always something but I will say in general I am Blessed.Some days you just gotta look a little harder.Yesterday was 60 degrees Today 40's just crazy weather this year.My flowers are popping up then it gets cold and they wilt.I'm hoping the Ground hog predicts 6 more weeks.I want at least one good snow.Yep I'm one of those that enjoys winter.It's my nesting instinct..Oh and for everyone in the swap your partners were sent.Any questions just email me..Well girls I've gabbed long enough so enjoy your day! Happy Saturday! I was going to stay home and have a lazy day but I feel like I need a adventure today..smile..So told hubby to hitch up the horse....

Not sure what I want to do.I love going were the road leads and enjoying the views.Old Buildings, cemeteries, churches, farmhouses.....

Back roads are always eye candy for me....

But really I'm in the mood to seek treasures.Dig through a out of the way antique or junk shop and discover just what I'm looking for (rarely happens but a girl can dream).....

Gifts of Friendship

I am so blessed with friendships.I never would have thought that I would find my kindred spirits but through blogging so many have become so close.Two years ago I lost my best friend.She was more like my sister her mom died when she was 15 so she spent every holiday with me and we talked or visited daily for over 20 years.When her son was born I was his only Auntie.We shared everything.The night she died we got the call at 2 am and I traveled in a ice storm to try to get to her almost wrecking due to the bad roads.I still think I see her driving to come see me when I look out the kitchen window.We always said we would be grannies sitting in rockers bickering together..I miss her so much..She was my kindred spirit and I honestly never thought I'd find anyone like her but I see so much of her in so many of you.Yes I have family and friends close but they just don't get me like many of you....I am blessed by so many of you and am so Thankful I started this journey...I truely hope that I bless you all the way you bless my life.....I want to share some sweet gifts I received from some special friends...First are the the beautiful hooked hearts from Teri http://www.whitesheepfarm.com/ I was her special Valentine. If I had to describe Teri I'd say she is one of the most honest people.She is also passionate,loyal and giving....

The next little surprise was from my very sweet friend Lil Raggedy Angie.I just love her! If she was closer I'd surely be dragging her on adventures all the time. Her little princess is just the cutest ever..She knew I was drooling over these sweet sheep she creates.So she sent me one just because she loves me..I litterly did a happy dance when I opened it.I love it! I have a little surprise in mind for her as well..She is always there when I need to vent or need someone to just listen and understand.She is a wonderful secret keeper..smile.....The next pics are a recent swap I did with Renee Recollecting the past...

Renee and I always say we are long lost sisters.So much the same about us but I'm definatly better at hiding my clutter than she is.LoL..Renee I love all the sweet gifts.Thank all of you girls for brightening my day! Well girls spring will be here before we know it.I'm still wondering were the holidays went and it's the end of January already! Time to start on our spring goodies.This will be our Some Bunny Loves You Swap when planning this swap I thought I would make it secret but changed my mind because it worries me a little if you can't communicate with your partner...

To join in the swaps I host You either had to join in a past swap or I must know you to some extent meaning you comment or I visit your blog.You must be a follower to join in as well.Yes I do allow new people to join in but you must email me and have a active blog I can check out.I know this sounds strict but if you have ever been on the bad end of a swap you understand.I want my girls to have fun and not have to worry.You must be in the USA or Canada as shipping cost are high....

Let it Snow!

Oh my! I'm so excited it's finally snowing a real snow the first one since our freak storm in October.I was wondering if old man Winter was going to make a appearance this season..smile..About 4 inches so far this afternoon supposed to get ice though.Ok by me I am all snuggled in for a PJ day...

Hubby is out snow blowing while our peeper neighbor watches from his kitchen window.LoL.Hubby put a mannequin in the window we switched and opened the blind the other night so it looked like someone was watching his house.When we went out the next day his blind was closed.But back to watching us coming and going or like now when hubby is working outside...

Me I'm going to just take a lazy PJ day.Make a warm cuppa ....

Ok it'll really look like this...Yummmmmm...

Have some yummy candles lighted.and tarts melting.Scents of Maple syrup,gingerbread and fireplace wafting in the air...So Welcoming...Yes come out of the cold....

The dogs are already snug as little bugs...Got news for them though I'm taking that big chair to settle in and watch movies and read..Maybe I'll share.Mung my little fat boy can be pretty persistant with what he wants and he usually wants to be snuggled with momma..Mailman just dropped off my Romantic Prairie Style book and a new southern cookbook so some good reading for later...

Good Sunday sweet girls! I'm off to Grandma's old farmhouse to visit my family.I haven't seen them since Christmas since I had the crud bug.LoL..Miss them so going to enjoy a lazy afternoon with them.Made a peach cream pie never tried it before but it looks yummy.My momma used to make a peaches and cream dessert when we were young but no longer has the recipe.I remember it had Jello and vanilla ice cream.The pie I made has Jello,cream cheese and coolwhip.I made a baked crust for it instead of graham.Well just wanted to stop in and say Hi! I don't like change never have.I like to stay with what's familiar and comfortable.Well blogger has forced me to change and I'm lost and confused so bear with me till I get used to things again.First they disabled my blog emailed them and the next day it was back up.Thank goodness paniced I'd have to refind everyone on a new blog.Then yesterday it would not let me see most of your blogs once it pulled up it was just a white page.So I just walked away figuring another glitch.Well today it tells me browser does not support blogger.I have high speed wireless internet since we stream netflix and hulu to the TV so my internet is pretty up to date.It said I needed goggle chrome so with resistance I downloaded it.(you know I got to see my sweet friends)..Well it is sooooo differnt so now I have to relearn everything.I'm sure I'll get the hang of it in a few days,but right now it's very confusing.And I don't like how my dashboard is at all I get lost easily.Posting well let's just say we'll see how this post looks..LoL.....Wanted to share with you this beeswax bunny I just finished.I listed him in my etsy shop if you are interested.I only have the one made but will list more in the future.He is solid using a antique chocolate mold.....Etsy link is on the sidebar..

Yesterday I was having a frustrating day having to catch up everything from being sick and taking care of dad's things as well.Well I got light headed and fell between the couch and coffee table.Hubby's at work and the first thing I thought was "I've fallen and I can't get up" had to laugh.Yes I could get up I wasn't really hurt except my arm and hand hurts a little because I feel on it.Then I decided to take a break and sit down well I dosed off for a few minutes which I never do.I woke up because the phone rang.I'm assuming since I had the stomach virus almost 2 weeks it took some of the nutrients and just made me wonky.I'm feeling better and eating normal again so I'll give it a few days....The day got better though because there was a sweet surprise in the mail from Kendra The Stone House blog..She sent me this wonderful heart make do...

Totally unexpected and brightened my whole day! She is such a sweet friend I'm so glad she started her blog and I've been able to get to know her better.I just love the little pocket on it.Here is were it's displayed...

Well girls seems like this month is just flying right on by! Wasn't Christmas a few days ago? I'm a Cheater

Good Saturday! Well I'm feeling a lot better not 100% but I'd say after almost 2 weeks of sickness I'm about 60% better and finally able to enjoy some things.Christmas is finally put away and Valentines is up.I don't have much Valentines so easy to get out.I'll share pics soon.I also did a little tweaking to some things.Aren't we always doing that? Most people I know don't love each season and change the decor or put out special things.That's why I love you all, you enjoy simple pleasures and celebrate like I do...smile...The bucket and the large doll were in the loft for a long time so bought them out to display.... Ok so I got you wondering about my cheating ways.Hmmm wonder what thoughts crossed your minds? You are supposed to be my friends you know? LoL..Well it's these to die for cookies!!!!
They are soooo yummy.I had a long drawn out recipe so I decided I wanted them easy..Pretzel Cookies with Chocolate and Peanut butter...

Sweet and Salty..Ok so I'll give you my version which is soooo easy.
Pretzels Cookies with chocolate and Peanut butter

Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie roll or chub

3/4 to 1 cup peanut butter chips

about 3/4 cup broken pretzels (I used the thin stick kind they were easy to break but any thin ones will work)

Course Sea Salt

Preheat oven according to cookie dough package.

Break up cookie dough in bowl add the peanut butter chips.Mix with spoon ( I like to mix it with my fingers) add in pretzel pieces and gently mix again.Roll Tablespoon size balls you can use your hands or the double spoon method.I like hands. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.Sprinkle the cookies lightly with sea salt.Bake 10-14 minutes.Leave sit 2 minutes before removing from tray. Now have someone hide them as they are addicting.

Hi sweet ladies! Oh my haven't been blogging much lately.It started Christmas Eve got soooo sick then around tuesday I felt better Well then friday it came back and I'm just feeling semi better now.But I am sick of being sick so up trying to do some things.It was a stomach bug and hubby kept wanting me to go to the Urgent care well I'm not much for doctors but gave a deadline for yesterday if not better I would call a regular doctor.(we don't go to the drs much and ours retired so we need a new one) Well I started to feel better so I'm waiting it out.It's a stomach bug.I'll tell you if I have to go much longer on a BRAT diet I'll go nuts.LoL I need SUGAR! I just got the Christmas decorations put up today but now I'm worn out so will just pick a little with the cleaning and getting the house back together...The good thing is I Lost 14 lbs being sick.I know most will come back once I eat right but gotta try to find a bright side here..smile.. I've been trying to get some RAK's together there are a few people I think just need a little surprise to cheer them up..Nothing like a little hug in the mailbox..So did you make any New Years resolutions? I don't really make resolutions as it's hard for me to stick to them so I just set general things I'd like to change like try to excercise a little more, slow down and enjoy the small things,not let others negativity effect me,Set more time aside for things I enjoy and try to simplify.I don't think I'll ever get to the last one as there are always a million directions I'm going in and I really enjoy "stuff"..smile..

Well sweet ladies I'm a little indiffernt about Christmas this year.I'm so warm hearted about all everyone has done and it warms my heart knowing how much eveyone cares but on the flip side it was a stressful time of uncertainty.Then Christmas Eve I got very sick,Christmas I didn't even want to open presents or visit.I'm still not feeling up to par...So it was the best and worst Christmas ever.LoL..I will say I'm looking forward to a New Year.I always love a fresh new begining.Wanted to share hubby's gift from my sil Jean http://primcrafts.blogspot.com/ he just loves it,he says she should make him a whole herd.LoL..Prim Reindeer... I saw a few on another blog but theirs looked little this one is BIG..Jean made me a George which you can see by visiting her blog.I love my gift too! ...I did manage to get up and go to grandma's old farmhouse Christmas.The girls were on sugar cookie and present high so it was hard to get them to sit still long.Me being sick wasn't in the mood to catch them..smile..Hannah honeybunch did let me give a few pics but everyone she was bouncing though.LoL..Brianna was outside most of the time....

Christmas Eve there were a few surprises in the mail... My heart is overwhelmed! The big Thank You

Well girls this is gonna be a long a mushy post if you want you can just scroll down to the Thank You part..smile..I've always said that the friends you meet online are your real friends.They are the ones you connect to.They visit you in your home,share your joy and sorrow,send up a prayer when you need it and encourage you in your daily life..I started recieving Christmas cards a few weeks ago (the first from Lil Raggedy Angie) and they kept coming.I thought boy am I blessed that so many wonderful people took the time to think of me by the simple gesture of the card.The simple joy it bought going to the mailbox and finding them was like a warm hug when I was down and out.Things have been hard here and you all always encourage me but I don't always like to share bad news or sadness I like to be the person I normally am upbeat and caring about others (yes you)..My dad's cancer has bought so many emotions anyone that has been through it knows it is high stress but also a learning experiance and alot of guilt thrown on top.Me I've always been the type that needs to keep going till it's done in every area or I can't be at ease.Well the cancer has taught me that their is no end and the unpredictible will be around every corner..I initially was scared and felt I had to do it all for my dad and didn't know the long road ahead.I got burned out fast but when a case worker was assigned I assumed she was taking care of his needs as far as Insurance and assistance.A few drs visits back we found out there was a problem with the insurance.(this coming right when the second round of chemo pills were needed) The Dr was nice enough to give dad his very expensive pills till the insurance is staightened otherwise we will have to pay for them which is in the thousands.He has also been getting a good bit of money from me which has drained me. The other day I stopped and he had a shut off notice for the water and sewer if that happened then they would condem his house.So after we talked I found out that the man he let stay in a spare room after he got a divorce switched his PO box address over to my dads address because he didn't want to pay the fee.Well the assistance office found out about this and considered the mans income as my dads and cut out his benefits.The man gives my dad $100 a month if he is lucky.I also found out my dad is only getting $200 a month in assistance.So I asked my dad Why after working 35 years are you not getting unemployment? Well the case worker had told dad not to file as it would affect his insurance which I thought was wrong.So instead now I am looking into Social Security but it is a long process.I really didn't realize he was only getting $200 a month really who can live on that? So I didn't know what to do I started calling differnt agencies only to be treated rudely and no help for him until after the first of the year...Well work has been slow with the economy for my hubby so we are just making it right now,I've been trying to help dad but our bank account is drained..Why tell you this personal stuff? Well for the first time ever in my life I ask for help no I didn't want a hand out just was hoping if I got some extra sales in Etsy I could help dad out....Well let me just say I have been humbled.I am Thankful that it was kept anonymous but I know in reality the ones that pulled together know who it was for. Traci http://yorkmountainprimitives.blogspot.com/ tried to do a simple thing to help me out and it grew and grew.You my generous friends all wanted to pitch in and give me some relief and peace during this time that should be joyous.I am overwhelmed with how you all cared and pulled together for my benefit.Traci was a angel in disquise her simple act of kidness spread through my dear friends hearts and grew into something so special.So thank you sweet Traci not only for putting your time into this during the busiest time of year but for always being my friend.Thank you to Carol,Lecia,Tammy, Gina, Brenda, Jean, Patti, Teri, Eve, Marie OLM, Pamela and Mary for feeling the need in your heart to step in and help Traci.Thank you Penny, and the other bidders.Thank You to all that purchased a little something from Etsy or helped out in your own way.Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes.I have tried to email some of you on a personal basis but I wanted to take the time and say how much it has ment to me....You my sweet friends showed me what the true spirit of Christmas is.You have help carry my burden and gave me some peace as well as the knowledge that there is so many who care rather you are in good times or bad.I have never been on this side of the fence I've always been the giver.I never ask any of you for anything and you opened your hearts up just because you cared about me.What a special group of friends I have.I am truely blessed.So a Heartfelt Thank You! As many of you know things have been hectic and a little hard here lately.Well a few weeks back Teri http://www.whitesheepfarm.com/ was having a surprise Birthday Giveaway were she sent a present to someone without letting them know who it would be till it showed up.Well I took dad to the Drs. then came home and saw a package on the porch.I had no idea who it was from and wasn't expecting anything..I opened up the box and could smell prim yumminess coming out.I first opened the card and realized the gifts were from Teri so then Oh my gosh came out of my mouth was excited before I even opened the packages.Just could not believe it was me! As most of you know my dad is going through cancer right now.Well some situations have came up with his benefits and insurance and it has caused a problem for us.I have exhausted my extra finaces already. I haven't been much in the Christmas mood this year.Just to much rushing and hecticness to enjoy.I also have been neglecting my family with everything.So Sunday I took the time to spend sunday at Grandma's farm house.Had dinner with the family then spent the afternoon playing with the girls.Driving on the way home listening to christmas music was the first time this year that warm joy of Christmas came over me..so now I'm ready to wrap my gifts,watch some holiday movies and enjoy the real meaning of the season....

Another busy week ahead. Gotta take dad back to the dr who did the surgery tomorrow he's still having so much pain. I made him a Cherry Cheese Pie today he's been mentioning repeatly about the cheesecakes at the grocery store how he would love to have one but they cost like $25 and he doesn't want to spend it since he is on a fixed income.Now cheesecakes take a long time to make so he's getting the next best thing.Cherry Cream Cheese pies are easy and Yummmy... I've got all the inside done for christmas.Hubby is working on the outside.I'm trying to keep it simple this year so alot of things I just didn't bother to put out...Today I'm sharing pics of the Christmas Tree....All aglow....

I tried to only have handmade ornies mostly from friends.As I was putting them up I was thinking of the old Romper Room show I see Stacey and Madalynne and Jean and well you get the point.Sad part is as a child they never called my name on the show..LoL..

I put the tree in a large antique bucket from Maine on top of a antique red sled..Oh look and the sweet black santa a gift from Lorna...All those presents are for me hubby keeps putting them under the tree.I haven't even wrapped mine yet....

Just had to sneak this in.For my birthday hubby baked me a strawberry cream cheese cake...Yummy.....Yep he can cook too..smile....

Ok so now what ya'll have patiently waited for...I had 99 people sign up with 130 chances total.I scrambled up the numbers and used the Random Generator the winner was Robin at The Primitive Hutch...Congratulations Robin! Good morning everyone...Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.We had a nice dinner with hubby's family.My sweet SIL bought me the cutest snowman but I'll have to show you once I get finished decorating.I tried hard to get it done on friday but we have had high 50's and 60's temps so I just haven't been in the christmas mood yet.The good thing is I got a market in with the warm weather...It's supposed to be cooler after tuesday down to the 40's so I'll pull the tree down then.Wanted to stop in and thank Brenda for the wonderful swap goodies she sent.. The snowman make do is my favorite! Sweet gingers....

The santa has already found a home and is trying hard to get me motivated for christmas..Oh and the sweet black prairie doll.I love black dolls...Everything was handmade by Brenda..

Thanks so much Brenda.I loved everything you sent.Just wonderful! Well tomorrow is my birthday.I tell the girls 29 and holding but they are starting to not believe me.LoL. They don't understand how you can be the same age every year..I don't go all out anymore. Anyone who knows me knows I'm more into my house than designer clothes and such but I really wanted a pair of Ugg boots but could not bring myself to pay $150 for shoes.Yikes! Well I found some at a unbelievable price so I checked the box inside,outside and compared them to others to make sure they were not knockoffs.They were the real deal so I tried them on Pure Heaven soooo soft.The man even gave me a little extra off.I didn't have enough so I gave him my money told him to hold them and found hubby told him to get over there.So now I have my Uggs gonna were them out today even though it's not cold.They are supposed to adjust to the weather since they are lined with sherpa.Well girls I've got another busy week ahead but have a few things and thank you's to catch up on so I'll be on later this week.Warm Blessings!~Amy

A Time for Thanks

Hope you all are Having a wonderful week.Hectic here as usual.We have to drive a hour and half away from home tomorrow for court.My husband is a witness we tried to get out of it but no such luck.I can't believe it's a day before Thanksgiving.It's in the city too, which I don't like going to and am worried about were I can park my jeep.Hubby says better make sure to hide my GPS.LoL...Anyway the guy was already found guilty but he appealed so now they are pinning more charges on him.If I was them I would have paid the fines and cost in local court because now he could face a felony charge through the DA. He's not to smart....Then turkey day.My hubby's family is coming and I might go see everyone at grandma's later in the eve...Hubby will make a full blown dinner,I'll make some dessert..So wanted to stop in and wish you all a

Happy Thanksgiving while I had a few minutes..So many things I'm thankful for this year but I think it's the simple things that mean the most to me this year.I find myself not caring about the gifts under the tree or everything being perfect(yes I like things a certain way)..It's been a rough year and I'm finding more joy and appreciating small things that used to go unnoticed and appreciated...

Like having a minute to enjoy a magazine with a warm cup a tea a rare occasion lately..Time waiting on the Drs to call dad back as we get time to talk while waiting and I appreciate that I have the few minutes to just sit and talk with nothing else to do.Every minute counts with the unknown time we have since we found out about the cancer.I'm Thankful he's talking about the future and hoping to go back to work in January...I'm thankful for my family and that I still have my grandma and the old farmhouse to gather with everyone on sundays...I'm thankful for home..Thankful for friendships near and all of you who have been there for the good and the bad.Blogging brings you close to people who are so similiar to you and so many of you are like family...Soooo many things to be thankful for..

So as you sit down to your feast remember how blessed you are to have loved ones near,good food to eat and a warm house.Count your blessing and remember that there are so many people without right now...My wish for you on this Thanksgiving is Love and Warmth and may you always be blessed!

I Love Fall

Thank you girls for all your sweet comments and prayers and emails.You are all so special and I'm thankful to have you...Now on to fun stuff.I know most of you are getting a jump on Christmas decorating but I enjoy fall and Thanksgiving.I don't like to rush it.For me fall marks the start of nesting, a slower pace (summer is busy here), enjoying more time with family and friends,good food and togetherness.I also love the colors,cool crisp air but not so cold that a warm cup of tea won't take the chill off ,warm scents always candles burning.I also love that darkness comes earlier encourages me to relax.Hubby always makes a big Thanksgiving dinner here wether it's just us or a housefull.It's the only holiday we spend at home...So the Halloween is away and the turkeys are out..

Sweetness and Gratitude

Hi sweet girls! This post is a little sappy and long be fore warned..I haven't been blogging as much regular post like I used to.Truth be told lately I have been really down and I like to be more upbeat.I normally bounce back quickly but it hasn't been that way.I'm also a optimist and always try to find the good so when the bad comes sometimes reality takes awhile to settle in.Well let me say the last few months the reality has built a grand old nest inside of me and some days I just want to go sit in a padded room so I can breath,be alone and gather my thoughts awhile... But alas it's not going to happen because I don't break easy.LoL..I normally turn it over to God and know that eventually "This to shall pass" It is hard sometimes to gather my thoughts at times though,stress does that I think it's called the flight impulse were we have to run in panic or at least the brain thinks that.To technical for me...I've finially come to terms that my Dad may die from the cancer.They gave him a 50/50 chance without the chemo.He has refused the injections but agreed to take the pill he should have both.He said he has been knocked down to long and can't go the whole way for now.He is in constant pain,hates the colostomy bag,is worn out and truth be told I don't think he cares if he goes on.He was a person who loved to work and be out and about.The doctors have told him he will never return to work like he did.No he is not miserable to be around but if you lose the will to live that's most of the battle.I spend alot of time taking him to doctors and just visiting with him.I've come to terms that I was a good daughter and was there for whatever he needed.I hope for the best but know what might be...Stress number two is my sister being back in my life.What she has done is horrible I'm not ready to discuss it.I know forgiveness is the right thing but I don't forgive her,every time I see her my heart breaks and the anger sets in.I have prayed and prayed on this one.Really if you had to be thrown in a place with the person who caused you so much pain repeatedly it would be hard for you too.Most people can say they forgive because they don't have to see the person.With the holidays coming up I hope I can get past this...So the moral of all this? Well there are so many special people who touch your life and heart.So many of you sweet girls are better friends than the people I see daily.So many ties that bound and we find each other through our similiarities.When a person is struggling those little things make a world of differnce.The little card that shows up in the mail.The encouraging email. The prayer and good thoughts sent up on your behalf..Then there are simply amazing people who out of the blue send a big old surprise..

Yep Linda Parker is that person.She bought tears to my eyes knowing that someone thought of me.She sent me the wonderful stitcheries and the sweet beeskep and other goodies.That lil beeskep ment the most though because I knew while she was going about her daily task she thought of me especially.Thank you sweet Linda for always being my friend and the encouragement you give me.I love all the sweetness you send my way..And so many of you are truely special to me...I have realized in the last few days that there are soooo many ways I'm blessed and will be Thankful each day..I'm not saying the fog will lift and all sadness will be gone but if we look for JOY it will be there in the simplest of things..I've always said those Random acts can mean so much to someone so even if it's just a smile or a hello it can turn a world around for someone.

Still with me? Sorry so long just so many of you care and worry so I wanted to update you.Oh and Linda not sure why you sent the wonderful gifts.My birthday? Truely love those stitcheries of yours.

Just Not Right ~ A White Halloween

Hmmmm....Just not right is it? Snow and Halloween just don't match.Should be crunchy leaves underfoot and a spooky chill in the air.Ours looked more like those crazy people who are to lazy to take down the decorations till Christmas..LoL..We ended up with about 8 inches here in the end.The last time it snowed in October was before I was born..It set a new record for the most snowfall in our area this soon. Wonder if it's a sign of a harsh winter.I hope so.Love lots of snow just not this soon.Plus keeps hubby busy out snowblowing so I can have time to myself snuggled inside.. My poor weeping cherry did survive I was worried...

Trick or Treat? I'd say trick..Our front walk.

My sister Melissa always takes the girls and her son Jayson trick or treating and brings them to visit for awhile.Well this year my evil sister came too.It was hard having her in my house so far I have been able to handle seeing her at grandma's and when the girls had their birthday,but having her in my home was very hard.I concentrated on the kids and Melissa.I hope I can get better about being around her before the holidays because the anxiety it causes seeing her is hard.I've tried forgiving her but my heart just can't let go yet especially since I think she will not ever change.Other than that was a wonderful Halloween.Hannah was Fancy Nancy which is a tea party theme so darn cute plus now I know she'll love her christmas present I got her the DS game, and will make her some sugar cookies with pink frosting and some strawberry tea mix.Brianna was Rapunzel which surprised me since she said she was to big for princesses.Hope you all are having a wonderful week!~Amy

Snow and Blog Sale

Well girls it's still snowing here.Alot of trees are breaking and since the leaves haven't dropped it's holding all the snow.We broke a record here in Pa with 5 inches so far in October.Oh my I was just settling in to fall.I did take pictures and will be back on tomorrow if we have power (they say with the braches to expect power outages)..I decided to leave the blog sale listings up till monday so check it out if you have time.There are 4 listings total some extra fall beeswax items that I marked cheap and lots of antiques and prims.I did get my PJ day in so that was a good part of the snow day..smile..Suppossed to only reach 40 tomorrow so I'm going to finish up some ornie's to send off to OLM and hopefully get some stitching done(not my favorite thing).Hubby says since it's halloween we need to go out and make zombie snowmen and spray them in red food coloring.Hmmm we'll see.We haven't had trick or treat here yet.I think it's monday so it should be interesting this year having a white Halloween.LoL Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!~Amy

Well girls we have snow on the way. 6+ inches at last report..Yuck so not ready.I love snow but really a few more weeks of fall would be nice.Since I won't be able to get market in this weekend I'm going to do a blog sale starting this afternoon.The above crock,primitives,old baskets,antique yelloware mold,Large wood dough bowl,choppers,antique tin cookie cutters and tons more. Busy as a Bee..smile...Dad has been taking alot of time(he and I are having a dis aggrement over chemo) another story for a different day, and trying to get ready for winter and just general life..I'll be back on in a few days...Trying to vist everyone but you know if you miss a day on blogs you'll never get caught up LoL...Had to giggle visted Salmon Falls blog and she had Christmas music playing. EEeek! It's coming so fast...

For you girls doing the ornie swap everyone should have gotten your email today.If not let me know.I hope I got everyone matched right we had like close to 60 ornies to send to differnt address.I went over the list like 3 times and am 99% sure I got everything right but if not email me and I'll get it right for you.I know a few have a number by the name that was were I forgot to erase it for the ornies they were to recive so don't wory if you have a number beside the name..

Today is our last warm day here then down to 50's the rest of the week.I love nesting and cooler weather but not quite ready yet..Would like to get market in a few more weeks but the cooler temps the regular people don't come but I'm lucky to have about three people that stock their shops from me. With the cooler temps coming I have a list of things I want to bake.Looking forward to a stay in my pj's day hopefully thursday and catching up on some shows.I haven't watched TV in a few weeks any of the new fall ones really good? Tuesdays Display Chain ~ Autumn Table

Tuesday's Display Chain Hosted by Misi http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/ This weeks theme was Autumn Table Prepare and show a single table setting and recipe.Well this week has been hectic so any food I made was gobbled down in our rushed frenzy.So my display isn't as pretty as some of yours but it's mine.. Giggle...(Robyn) and Teresa sweetie you honestly had me drooling.(Make sure you check out the other links) I promise though it's sooooo yummy.
Single Serve Peanut Butter Pie...Makes about 4 depending on your container size.

You'll need

Crust

oreo cookies about a row and a half crushed I put mine in a ziploc bag and hit with a rolling pin get some stress out..smile..

about a tablespoon butter or margerine melted

Ganache Layer

1 Cup Semi sweet chocolate chips

1/2 Cup Whipping Cream also sold as Heavy Cream

Peanut Butter Pie Layer

1/2 Cup Peanut Butter

4 oz cream cheese softened

1/2 Cup powder sugar

4 oz thawed cool whip(half a tub)

Chopped up reese cups about 3

Mix oreo crumbs and margerine I use a spoon then hands ,press into bottom of container to form the bottom crust layer. Bring heavy cream to boil in saucepan remove from heat add chips stir till smooth.Set aside to cool slightly..Cream peanut butter and cream cheese.Beat in powder sugar.Fold in cool whip.Over the crust put a layer of peanut butter,then some chopped up reese cups,then ganache,then peanut butter.cover refrigerate.Normally takes about a hour for the ganache to set.Let me tell you the ganache is to die for I could eat it alone.Enjoy!

Well girls it seems we had enough interested in doing the extra swap before Christmas.So we are doing the ornie swap.

This one will be a little differnt.You will not necessarilly have the same partner you are sending to.It will not be secret but it will be random...You can choose to send 1-3 ornaments each will go to a differnt person but you will get the same as you send in return. Should be able to go padded envelope so cheap shipping.The ornie must be Prim and must be handmade it can be purchased as long as it's handmade. When you send your ornie you must put in the package your name and blog so we know who it's from.If you do not have a blog include your email so your partner can say thank you. Same rules apply ~ give as you would like to receive.I must know you to some extent or you must have a active blog I can check out.New swappers are welcome I just like to check in on people in my swaps as it is no fun to be disappointed.email me if unsure and I'll let you know.Please comment on this post you are joining in the fun...

Thank you girls for your heartfelt gifts!.....Ok on another note this is a questions for my swappers.A few of you missed out on the Christmas at the Cabin swap..We had the biggest gathering of girls for this one over 25 sign ups. I'm sorry a few of you missed sign ups.A few girls have emailed and ask about the next swap...I don't have any planned swaps till after Christmas and was wondering if any of you wanted to do a ornie swap? I wish I could find more the lady I bought it from said it would be a nice piece if you paint it.I smiled and said no I love it the way it is and will just wipe it off.She thought I was nuts.I like the original finish and the loved over time look.Hubby found this box and wanted to resell it but I talked him out of it.Printed on all four sides.Where would you ever find another in this shape? He said I could keep it if it found a place before today so yesterday I put it on top of the hoosier..See I tend to pile things and never get to them so I'm trying to break that habit and only keep the things that are loved enough to find homes right away....

More Autumn around the House

Well girls you may want to grab a warm cuppa as this is a picture heavy and chatty post..I have one more fall display post but I'm saving it for display chain on tuesday...

Today is the girls birthday the big 9 oh my growing sooo fast.We are all going out to dinner tonight at a buffet.About 20 of us.Grandma,cousins,aunts,uncles been a few years since we've all done this..The girls are getting gift bags from me and I saw the cutest thing on Pinterest were you do a bag with a snack size hershey bar,graham crackers and marshmellow ghost to make halloween smores so I'm making up some of those to include.They love roasting marshmellows on sundays by the bonfire...

The rain finally stopped after 2 months of rain almost daily we were so surprised to have beautiful sunny skies.Been chilly but this weekend is supposed to be beautiful..I'm a little nervous because I decided to purge some of my personal things for fleamarket this weekend.I decided I'm going to do saturday and sunday because with the weather,taking care of dad, and life in general I haven't had much time to make money and hubby's work has been slow.I'm a person who has to be comfortable, not a ton of money but secure so I decided with winter on the way I want some extra money thus letting go of a few things of mine.The reason I'm nervous is when you sell things you don't care about it doesn't matter if people are rude or cheap or plain ignorant which believe me they are.But when you sell things you love and know you are giving a good deal,the comments and rudeness are a little harder to bite the tongue and deal with..Don't get me wrong I have wonderful customers,friends and shop owners who know they can easily make money on me but then there are the people who think you should give your things to them.Don't tell me it's the economy rudeness does not come from that.If they can buy a $6 hamburg and $3 drink they can afford not to ask me to go $1 on a $5 item.Ok enough griping like I said just nervous if they want the good stuff resonable I'll definatly have it.I'm taking some old firkins,my graduated set of brown band yelloware bowls,crocks, antique large snowdrift and campfire marhmellow tins, and some prims.Now don't worry girls my house is still full and I'm definatly still buying..smile..In fact the stuff that's going are things that have been sitting looking for a home for a long time or things I've bought new things to replace.

Hubby just bought me a antique black licorice box I love.I'll show you in a few days..

Dad is still taking up alot of my time.He seems to be doing better but the doctor told him he's only got a 50/50 chance which took us totally by surprise so now I'm glad I have been doing everything I can.They are upset he lost 5 lbs which I think is partly because when he was in the hospitol they wouldn't let him eat for a week.He says he is eating less because the clostomy bag bothers him.I've been making sure he has good food which he eats.He's got a case worker now to help with all the insurance and she is trying to get him food stamps which will help lessen the burdon on my budget a little.Now let me say I don't think food stamps are a good thing for most people but my dad has worked for 45 years never taking a penny or hand out so since he can't work and has paid into taxes all these years he is the right type of person who should get some help..He also has a visiting nurse helping 2 days a week now..The doctor says he needs chemo again and is going in 3 weeks.he's upset that they won't give him the pills this time and will do it IV...I've accepted whatever the outcome is I've been there and did what I can and will continue..Just got to enjoy each day and let the people you love know while you still got them.Other than pain though he does not seem sick to me..

Easing into Autumn it's my favorite time of year! As soon as the ground dries out we are taking a day trip with the girls to a corn maze.We'll probly get lost but should be fun.I've been watching a few spooky movies I don't like gorey ones.More atmospheric whith big old houses and maybe a ghost hiding in the corner or a good mystery.I think I look at the old houses more though LoL I watched practical magic last night and noticed the trencher,yelloware and cupboards more than the movie. Also been trying out alot of comfort foods and baking with the cooler temps.The leaves are changing I'll have to get some pics they are amazing here in PA...

I've got lots of pics of new finds and some swaps to share so will be back soon with those.Oh I also wanted to let people know alot of your blogs won't let me comment there are others having the problem too.If you change your comments to pop up it fixes the problem.I'm missing alot of giveaways because of it and don't have time to email each of you personally.

Just wanted to drop in and wish you a Happy Autumn!!! A few more fall pics.I'll post some more in a few days..Hubby and I are doing the outside today.I normally go all out for Halloween outside but with everything going on we are going to keep it simple this year...

We are going to a farm stand for a hay bale and some corn shucks.Hoping to get some apples to make some apple dumplings this weekend..Going to be dreary and rainy today and saturday so I made some Autumn Wreath candles to burn (fall leaves,apples,and spices) and sweet lindee sent some pumpkin spice coffee so going to take some time to relax and enjoy home today and tomorrow...

I'm still here and update on dad

Just wanted to stop in with a quick hello.Hopefully things will settle down soon and I'll have more time to visit and share..Dad was released friday from the hospitol he did not seem ready to me.I know alot of you said I shouldn't worry about the confusion and such but he is still acting very strangely. it's been 14 days since they removed the tumor and he has been off the morphine since thursday.I'm starting to wonder if he has dementia starting.He is also being very demanding and being slightly childish which I am not used too.By all means I'm willing to do what is needed to help him but I'm getting worn out,and the mental toll is not good either I don't know if he is playing this up or if it's something that needs addressed.When I talked to the hospitol staff about his going in circles and confusion they acted like they didn't see it.He also expects me to do everything for him which granted I don't mind but he's been offered help from others as well.Like the visiting Angels want to clean his house he has two friends living in his house.He won't let them come why should I clean up after 3 men when they are perfectly capible and the angels will do it for free to help dad.Plus I'm unable to do my work so my finacess are starting to hurt.It's costing me about $60 in gas to run back and forth and $70 extra in food in a week.So I suggested Meals on wheels.He refused that to.It's a hot home cooked meal each night delivered free.Their is a visiting nurse lined up to begin wednesday I'm hoping this goes well and to get a slight break.I'm really not trying to complain just releasing some frustration with things.I'm getting ready to go see him now and feel I need to put my foot down on a few things.I love him but I'm exhausted.Then the guilt sets in and I feel like I have to do it all just in case I don't have him long.I'm sure the ones who have been through this understand...Anyhow I'm sorry I haven't been the best blogger lately and promise I'll be back to fun stuff soon..More fall decorating and have some beeswax creations to list when I get some time...

Well girls I want to say thanks again for all your kindness.I feel better knowing that the drugs affect you that much and that this will not be a new peramant thing.I'm the type of person that avoids pills and such at all cost unless I'm dying.I don't even like Advil..Another story entirely so we'll skip my reasoning..I've got the inside decorated for fall.It was alot of pics so I'll break it down into a couple of post.It's supposed to cool down after today and feel like fall so hopefully I'll get the outside done sometime this week..This is one of my favorites as it's all from wonderful friends... Autumn Stitchery....

Well busy week with Dad in the hospitol and some other things going on but with the beautiful fall weather I'm hoping to have at least one lazy day around the house this week.Dad wants the chicken corn soup for when he gets home so I'm going to simmer a big pot of that and make some bread tomorrow.I'll have to make some dessert too..smile..I have a ton of pumpkin recipes saved on Pinterest so will try something new.My button is on the sidebar if you girls want to look but caution it's addicting .I also have to go to gettysburg for some errands so I'd love to be able to make a half day trip out of it and visit the battlefield and have lunch.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Update on Dad

Sorry I've been a little absent and not got back to all the emails.Looks like this week is going to be hectic but I will try to drop in.I like browsing everyone's blogs even if I don't have time to comment with my short amount of computer time.I'm a a bit down and sad the last few days but I guess that's to be expected with all the stress I've been under with dad,my sister and a few other minor things.I always bounce back pretty fast but just the last few days I feel like being left alone and at times crying.Well yesterday I did cry a little the national athem set it off at market.They had a moment of silence and prayer and then the anthem and I cried a little.Yes I'm a patriot but I don't think pride was my reason.LoL....Dad made it through the surgery and got the tumor out.They said he'll have to do chemo again though.Went to see him today at the hospitol and it bothered me.He looked like a frail old man.My dad is not old mid fifties he had me at 18.But today he seemed old.He's always been a ball of energy and today he couldn't even move.I had to help him adjust in bed and get comfortable and he was in sooo much pain I was afraid I'd hurt him.He was talking about alot of weird things like walking his old dog that died about 8 years ago,his dad visiting whom died before I was born,needing money for cat food he doesn't have a cat.Hubby say's it's from the morphine and he will be ok and his old self but it bothered me.I was a CNA on a specialized Alzheimers unit for 10 years so I know he is probly right,but when it's your daddy it's differnt.He's supposed to come home thursday but at this point I don't see it happening.He said for me to make him a big pot of chicken corn soup because he is going home.I'll wait till wednesday to see.The nurse did say before he goes home he'll be on a regular diet though.She kept asking if he was in pain and he said no but told us yes so I told her because I don't want him released early and have more complications...Thanks again for all the prayers and emails you girls are such a wonderful support and know how to make me smile...I got the inside fall decorating done saturday I'll share pics soon.I have lots of regular stuff to share to.I also have been trying to get a giveaway planned for fall but want to get things settled so I can spend a little time on it..Big Hugs to all of you who have been such wonderful friends!~Amy

Yumminess and a few Barn Finds

Well it's been pouring rain here in PA since sunday eve and is supposed to continue threw friday.We've got at least 12 inches lost count.It's been cool as well so I'm slowly getting my fall decorating out.Today I'm going to make slippery chicken pot pie and stay home.There are alot of state of emergencies in surrounding towns due to flooding so they advise staying home if possible.Dad has his surgery today to remove the tumor so I want to stay close to the phone.The road that leads to the next town is flooded out,I could go the other way but he said he really doesn't want visitors till friday.He said he'll be out of it and will just want to rest....New yummy addiction..Well really can only eat one at a time.... Update on Dad and Prairie Harvest Swap Reminder

Good Tuesday Morning! Hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day.Wanted to let you all know today is the last day to get me your info for The Prairie Harvest Swap click on top side bar for rules and sign up info.I'll accept sign ups till 4 today as it'll be a little hectic this week.....

I want to thank all the prayers and kind emails for my dad.No one could ask for better friends..He goes in Thursday to have the tumor removed.He should be in the hospitol about a week.The doctors say he will be in alot of pain and will have to take the pain meds for at least 6 weeks.Up to this point he has not wanted to take the pain meds but has resigned that he will take them after the surgery.They will have to go through his stomach and move his insides then move them back.They say he will have to wear a colostomy bag the rest of his life.He'll then have another round of treatments.I'm scared for him but it looks like he is going to be ok in the end.He says he is worried but knows he'll beat it and just wants to get back to his regular life.He is stir crazy not being able to work.I'll be with him today figuring out what needs done before and while he is in the hospitol.He has a black lab my best friend gave him before she passed away who is his "baby" so I think his friend will be helping with the dog a few days...The visiting Angels offered to clean his house but he said no as he was bored and wanted to do it himself.He's a bachelor so I know I'll have to go over it better before he gets home don't want him to get a infection with his immune being down...I'm a little anxious waiting to get this chapter done with but putting my trust in God to get us through it.Plus I have a few other things bugging me but I've always been one to bounce back quickly...Life is to short to be miserable...On another note just want to tell that cranky crow Robin Thank You for forgiving me even though you know it's soooo true...smile...Gotta love that little Cranky Crow! I promise to get a few pics on soon of a few of the barn finds too.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Happy Labor Day!!! We have rain here in Pa so no last of summer picnics.We did have steamed crabs last night though so that was a good end to summer....Just wanted to post the goodies I recived in a swap with Pam from http://basketsnprims.blogspot.com if you haven't visited her selling blog you need to wonderful prim goodies.....Look how pretty it arrived...

Just a quickie

Happy Saturday! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.I've been busy.Finished helping clean out grandma's barn now hubby and I are helping clean some of the other property.Amazing what old farm people used for make do repairs.I found several old metal signs used to repair the chicken coops.Think the kind American Pickers would want.A little rough but we salvaged a 4 ft round one I'll be taking it to market tomorrow.Problem is I have no clue what it's worth.I researched and couldn't find any like it at all.It was from around the 1930's Southern Hotel.I couldn't get in the back barn yet.My Aunt says don't worry not much in there maybe some old washtubs and wood buckets I said well that's exactly what I want.Her and grandma just laugh thinking who wants that old junk..smile...I've been getting my creative mood back just need to find time to get things done.I did make the gourd Jack above for a friend and want to do some more.I've been pouring a ton of beeswax stuff and jar candles in fall scents.I haven't had time to paint in a few years but A Primitive Place magazine had a old ironing board painted for fall and I want to do one for the front porch.I used to love painting it's a shame we get so busy we sometimes lose time for the things we love.I'll be going up to the loft today to sort threw my massive Fall/Halloween stuff.I need to part with a few things but it will be hard as I love it.I got like 5 boxes of stuff and it's all not fitting in my little house...Don't forget if you want to get into the Prairie Harvest Swap I need your info by tuesday.Click on the top sidebar for rules..Warm Blessings!~Amy

Some Good Stuff and Bad Stuff

Went out to pick some vegetables from my garden at Grandma's farm.Hubby and I had a $5 bet that I had turnips out there.He tried to tell me I was nuts they were weeds.I of course won the bet when I went out and pulled turnips out of the ground..So my grandma, aunt and I are sitting in the shade and grandma says we need to get the barn cleaned out so Noah can store his car.Nobody has been in the Barn for years I said I'm going and looking cause you all will throw all the good stuff away.You know me always treasure hunting LoL..So it's piled full I'm in flip flops.I start digging and finding "stuff" I want.Showed Grandma, she says take it.So tomorrow Hubby and I are going to help her clean out some more and I'm treasure hunting.My aunt says I know you Amy you'll dig it out if you want it bad enough.They only want useful things the rest means nothing to them but I will check with my grandma before taking anything.Today I found a blue printed advertising crock in perfect condition, 5 litho milk bottles from local dairies with baby cows, a long bullet sled(a little rough but the graphics are good),antique enameled For Sale sign grandma thought maybe they would use it but I assured her if they need one I'll buy them a new one,old cream bucket,crockery chicken waterers,old carriers and some other stuff.Told grandma it's better than christmas and I'll be out early tomorrow to dig.The barn above is the one I'm helping her clean out.....Ok so now the bad stuff.Most of you know by now I'm not a grudge holder or mean person but no matter how hard I pray to forgive my evil sister it doesn't work.Everytime I see her anger gets the best of me and in reality I want to just knock her out(I'm not a violent person either) it's just her.I have tried so hard to forgive her but she has did some really horrible things especially to me and my nieces.I can't get into it all but when she is around I usually have to leave because I don't want to not be the person I am because of her and act out in anger.Well here is were the problem comes in I thought I would have a few years to get my emotions in check and forgive her but that's not the case.Grandma informed me today they released her from prison on house arrest and she will be staying at grandma's for awhile.She goes out from about 9am till her curfew at 9pm so I haven't had to see her yet.When I do I'm hopeful the anger subsides but when grandma told me I got anxiety right away.So maybe you could say a prayer for me and also my nieces..Don't try to tell me to look for the good though because I have tried and haven't found it..Ok onto better things I get frustrated just thinking about her....Dad goes for his appointment in two weeks to see if his immune is up enough to have the tumor removed so say a little prayer for that too.....I've been tweeking around the house and will have to get some pics to share soon.Below is my dough riser I switched around the vigenette on top..

Sorry for the little bit of gloom but that's what blogging is for to get it out and get over it with the help of friends..smile..Hope you all have wonderful evening.I'm loving the cooler nights I think I'll light some candles and sit outside with the dogs for awhile this evening.They like to go grasshopper hunting.LoL..~Amy

Some Sunshine

Well the storm is passing should be cleared out by 7 pm this evening.We lost power once so far.Mainly heavy rain and wind. Now just wind.The news builds everything up to a frenzy anymore it seems it's hard to know when to really worry so I'm always slightly prepared and don't worry much.I told hubby I've never heard of being on a hurricane emergency alert in PA and in reality we've had thunderstorms that were worse.So today we are taking a lazy sunday around the house.Rare for us.....My sunflower garden hubby planted is popping open everyday now.Thought I'd share a little sunshine with you...smile...

All differnt varieties...tall..short..single stems..branching stems...Some from special blog friends.... Love this one reminds me fall is on the way...

My little Raggedy Girlfriend sent me a little sunshine too.Just Bee cause she loves me..smile...The whole mailbox smelled of sunshine when I opened it from the citrus fixens.Always wonderful when someone lets you know you're thought of...

Well girls I have lots to post this week but today I'm just going to enjoy the pleasure of a stay in your PJ's day..Visit some blogs, read some prim mags,watch tv, light some candles and listen to the wind..Sweet hubby even bought me breakfast in bed (the street sign hitting the side of our house at 3:30 am woke him)..Sticking a roast in the oven so nothing to worry with, just what I needed.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Swap Goodies From Sheila and Lynn

Well this morning didn't start out the best.I had one sale I wanted to go to and wanted to be early.Well got to the next town over stopped for gas and the jeep would not start.This happens a few times a year and we know how to fix it.Problem was hubby took the jumper cables and tools out when he cleaned it out a few days ago.So we had to call his friend and sit and wait a half hour.Needless to say I never made it to the sale..I really don't think I missed much but their is one listed tomorrow as Primitives so I hope I can make it.There are few people in our area that really know what primitives are so to be listed as such I'm hopefull. So I'll be bugging hubby through the raindrops to get my jeep fixed.LoL...Well I got two swaps to share today.First is from Sheila http://seasonsofthyheart.blogspot.com/ She and I decided we wanted to do a swap between us.She sent me one of her grunge spiced can arrangements,potpourri and some yummy smelling room spray (even hubby liked the smell he keeps spraying a little)... A jack in a witches boot.This pic does not do him justice.He is just Awesome! I can't wait to get him displayed (trying real hard to wait till September)...

Swap with Robin and I'm not nuts

Ok so as most of you know by now there was earthquake in Virginia.Well I'm sitting at my computer and hubby is talking on the phone in the doorway.My chair starts wobbling and it gets worse I yell at hubby.Hey what's going on ? Then the dog realizes it and the floor is shaking we go out front to see if something happened.Well the lantern,butcher cleavers,graniteware everything in the kitchen is shaking.So it stops.We are trying to figure out what's going on.So he calls his friend and ask did your house shake.He says no.So he ask the mail lady did she feel the ground shake.She says no.They were outside.So now I'm thinking ok we are nuts or haunted.Leaning more towards nuts..smile..So finally we turn on the news and realize what it is...relief relizing I'm not off to a padded room.LoL..We are in PA and felt it, our things were still swinging 10 minutes after it stopped only lasted about 20 seconds.......
Recently I did a couple of swaps so I'm going to post them over the next few days...Robin http://primitivehutch.blogspot.com is such a sweet friend.She always has the nicest things to say and we both love the same things...Look at how nicely it's wrapped.....
She remembered from a few months ago I commented about this sign she made and she made it for me..see sweet and thoughtful...She sent my favorite dove caramel promises.Yummm...

Hi girls! Good old Days in our town till saturday.So I won't be on much till sunday.( A few pop ins of course) We are having sale here lots of the stuff I cleaned out from the tweeking.Hubby is doing that in the early mornings by himself while I go treasure hunting.I found about 4 treasures this morning.Saturday is the big antique/craft fleamarket in the park.A little pricey but good stuff.Hopefully I'll sell alot here and can shop there saturday..smile..I'll share my finds and my swap stuff soon..In the mean time I have my pinterest button on the sidebar lots of droolwaorthy prims,farmhouse and yummy recipes to check out.Watch out it's addicting.LoL.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Good afternoon girls.Spent the morning going on the dreaded Walmart trip.I hate they rearranged the whole store so I spend more time wandering looking for stuff only to find it's moved to the clear other side.I used to grocery shop there but they raised alot of the prices and it's so frustrating trying to find what you need...So unto fun stuff the tweaks....This is the slant desk that had to be moved to make room for the pie cupboard...It's in the living room now were my antique school desk was.The school desk went to the sell pile....

The New Pie cupboard

Here is the new pie cupboard I picked up friday..Of course no room in my little house so had to tweek and tweek some more.Had to rearrange two rooms and get rid of some stuff and still have some undecided piles sitting on the living room floor.Will be dealing with that later today.Plus I had to turn the farm table the other way so the light wasn't center so had hubby doing electric work.Oh he loves days like this NOT! Plus I took down a ladder that hung stuff on the ceiling.It's done now and we both love it.So worth the effort... Will be adding my set of old yelloware nesting bowls to the bottom corner.They were in the to go pile but realized I'll never find 4 graduated brown band yelloware bowls again so I'll keep them....Grey Granite milk pails...My slant desk sat here but it's in the living room now to make room for the crocks and butter churn..

I'll show you some more of the tweeking soon..Yesterday at the bad fleamarket we actually did well.There were some good vendors but they were high.I was the only one with good stuff resonable priced the other vendors kept staring because we were selling steady and no one else was.The bad crowd got there around 9am Only 2 rude people though.This fleamarket has alot of people from the inner city that come down for something to do free.One argued with me over a antique item telling me I was wrong I already had it in my mind not to let them get me down so I told him it was whatever he wanted it to be.The other tried to tell me on a antique ship clock the other pieces were missing.I researched the piece well and hubby explained nicely we know what it is and know it's worth $395 we were selling it for $65 The man knew too was only thinking he could get us down to nothing.He did buy it.It started raining around 10 am so we packed up.Today is rainy so I'm enjoying a lazy day at home.Going to get some swap stuff finished so I can mail tomorrow,go through some stuff for Good Old Days (hubby can take care of it I'll be off treasure hunting) and finding some places for a few things...I bought a firkin at the primitive yardsale with the intention of selling it.It's old but has been painted like 6 times.Hubby is out stripping it and says it's a awesome piece I told him not to show it to me when it's done..smile..to tempting to keep.I don't need it LoL..Well hope you all haveing a lazy sunday!~Amy

Busy as a Bumble Bee

Hi Ladies! Just wanted to stop in and let everyone that signed up for the doll swap know I'll have your partner to you by monday.I have a good excuse..smile..Hubby and I went yard saling today well we were driving by this one and he said."Wow did you see that?" so we made a u turn and went back.Oh my goodness prims galore of course I was a little broke just paid mortgage and missed market for 2 weeks but I managed to get a few things with my hideaway money.Let me tell you the yard was filled crocks,firkins,tin punched lights,High back chairs not sure what their called but the upholstered colonial ones we prim lovers want($100),Old quilts,cuboards,signs and on and on.Let me tell you I was totally in a daze I would have bought everything if I could afford it.The girl having it said I'm selling off all my prims to go to breezy beach style and boy did she have the good stuff.Anyhow my main thing I bought a Pie Safe Cupboard from her wich of course I had no room for but couldn't pass up.So I spent the day rearranging the whole kitchen and living room.Which lead to me wanting to get rid of some stuff as I rearranged.So now my sunporch is filled so I decided tomorrow I'm going to the bad fleamarket (haven't set up in over a year there) The people there are rude and cheap by this I mean they will literally ask you to take a quarter if you have a dollar on something,but I'm going to give it a try since sunday is going to rain and I can't set up at my regular market.I have good stuff I'm taking at resonable prices so hoping I get a few good people through.I already told hubby if they are rude I'm leaving early and he can set my stuff out for the good old days next week.I will show you my tweeking pics in a few days..So haven't had much computer time..Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!~Amy

Just wanted to drop in and say a little Thank You and show you some of my weekend finds.Finally a cooler day here in PA. It has been so hot so today was like a breath of fresh air. Inside were these adorable stitched beeskep and bee tucks....

Thanks Traci you are always very giving......So saturday I went out saling at little.Things have been busy and hectic here.The corncob incident with Boo cost me over $600 no surgery but a irratated bowel and pain so meds for 10 days and a clingy little dog who is driving me just a tad nuts.LoL..Mung was fine that dog has no problems ever thank goodness as Boo takes any extra money I have every couple of months.Love them like kids though so gotta take care of them...So anyway back to saturday I saw this right away under the table.The man is someone I buy from often and he brings stuff back from Virgina alot so I assume it's from there....Just incredible find I can't believe I got it.Very early public notice board that would have probly been hanging in town hall or court house....Original red paint....

Old slate on top for annoucement.Very weathered burlap across bottom...Look at the writing..

It is so much better in person.Truely a piece of history.I hung it in the living room....

Here are my other keeping finds..Antique large wood dough bowl(I'm addicted to old wood bowls) A early tin hogscraper candle holder I've been looking forever for one of these.This one has some toile painting which I'm going to try to remove..And this hand painted wood bench.The bench was made from a old fruit/melon crate and retains the old labels on the bottom and side...

Kindred Spirit Doll Swap Sign Up

Special swap for anyone who wants to sign up.I will still be hosting two more regular swaps this year but I thought we'd do a special swap.This swap will consist of a handmade doll only.(yes you can include a little something extra if you want but I want the focus on this swap to be the doll)

The doll must be handmade.If you are not a sewer it's ok to purchase a doll but it must be handmade by a artist by this I mean no mass produced dolls such as Honey and me or china made.It needs to be handcrafted by you or someone who takes pride in their work.(peferably no hot glue unless a dab is needed) The doll must be at least 10inches tall but can be as large as you want.I'm not setting a value as we are just doing the doll but I want you to be generous in the giving of your doll.Make it special...

To sign up you need to have joined in one of my other swaps or I need to know you to some extent.If you are new and want to join in you will need to have a active blog I can check out or email me and we will take it from there.I don't mean to sound harsh I'm here to help and do like new people to join in.It's just I want everyone involved to have fun and be worry free.It spoils it when people don't send their side or are out to get something for nothing.This is about friendship and giving....

Good morning girls! First let me say Thank You for the invites to Pinerest.For those that ask they were only accepting memberships by invite now.What I didn't know is to have pinerest you had to have a facebook or twitter account which I didn't so signed up for twitter lesser of two evils I guesse(I spend way to much time on the computer all ready) Pinerest is addicting I absolutely love it and can get lost for hours.I just started my boards there is a link on the sidebar if you want to check it out,I'll have them filled in no time...Well sweet Michelle (Granny's Pantry) and I did a personal swap.I needed her to make something special for me which I can't show as it's for a swap but did want to show off the beautiful Penny she made for me... She did a wonderful job.I showed her what I wanted and she did it almost excact.I love it! Michelle is such a sweetie.Thank You and I'm sure we'll swap again soon..smile... I signed up for The sisterhood of the traveling swap months ago and finally recived it I think I was like #7 on the list.What is supposed to happen is it gets sent to one person they take out what they like and post then replace it with some prim items for what they took and pass it on.I saw some of you girls got some wonderful things from that magical box but by the time it reached me there was only one prim thing in it..

My little boo dog had to go to the vet for the corn cob incident.$150 to tell me to give him two doses of Milk of Mag and see if it passes.Needless to say I have one miserable little dog right now and a fun day of being in the yard watching him.If it doesn't work he has to go back for a enema which will cost several hundred I'm sure....Ok so Miss Cranky Crow Robin and Patti have been commenting how they never saw me.Well I hate my picture taken they always turn out bad,I'm better behind the lens..smile..Yesterday we took the girls to the Hungry Parrot and I let hubby try to take a few shots well most were like Really? I ask for one good pic and this is it? (You'd have to see,which I'm not showing.LoL) So here is me girls...The twins were not cooperating as they were excited to get inside and play games...

Just a lovely pic huh? Well it was the best out of the ones hubby took..We did have fun at the Hungy parrot except some girl kept bullying the girls.Hubby told me to go check them and this girl that was about 2 years older kept stealing their tickets and asking them for quarters and trying to take their stuffed animals not really being mean just pushy and kept doing it.It's hard to correct other peoples children so I told the girls that I know they are just trying to be nice but they do not have to give her their stuff that she had her own money from her family and that once they ran out of theirs they would be sad.I told them to say No and if she kept it up to come tell me.Well she did keep it up and I told her that the girls were not allowed to give their things away unless they ask me so if she needed something she would have to ask her family or to win it herself that it wasn't fair for her to have spent hers than take from kids smaller than her.She then left the girls alone.The sad part is her family was sitting a table away and heard me telling the girls and never once corrected the girl or her brother.Well I'm going to be outside today and finishing up swap stuff.Hope you all have a wonderful day!~Amy

Lazy Sunday Update on Dad Pinterest Invite?

Just a casual post today..First off I would love to try Pinterest but I need a invite so if any of you can invite me I would appreciate it..You can email me from my profile...Well Sunday I just decided to take the day to myself and relax and enjoy Sunday at grandmas.The girls were loving on the new kittens.Mamma kitty enjoyed the break and loving too....

Jayson enjoyed the babies too.He's been a little scared of animals as he was bitten by a dog a few weeks ago.We are trying to get him to trust them again..

Just a relaxing Sunday with family...A few of you have asked about Dad.Well he has 3 days left of the chemo/radiation then 6 weeks to regain his blood count then surgery to remove the tumor.He is doing remarkably well so far.He is upset because he wants to work but can't with his insurance if he breaks the rules he will have to pay the 125,000 that he's up to so far himself.He is able to work part time with his energy level so he's bored...Well I have lots to share as soon as I get caught up again..smile..Hubby put up corn sunday and the dogs stole cobs so now I have a sick dog to deal with.I called the vet and made them aware but at this point I'm feeding him olive oil,plain rice and lots of water to try to get it to pass.I'm praying it does.The other dog is fine.My little Boo is always something with him should have bought dog insurance years ago.His vet knows him so well for sure..Well girls hope you all are enjoying some simple pleasures.Warm Blessings!~Amy

King of the Hill

This is the road I should live on..smile... Well the farm auction was no fun I left after about a half hour.It was HOT well over 100 degrees,there was only like 5 things I wanted and the auction service they used were not the brightest people.They were painstakingly slow and with the heat you'd figure they would want to move along.Normally at auction box lots are done by the row buyers choice.Well this service was auctioning 1 box at a time and showing each item in the box.So I told hubby I wanted to go.We did enjoy the country ride.We then went to fleamarket and lunch...It was close to our friends house so I stopped to visit these sweetie's along the way.....

Love their plank set up.It even has a rope pull troley to send food over from the road.There is a big river down below..How cute is this baby?

Fleamarket was unbearable hot and the people that were out were just plain rude and trying to get something for nothing.I started feeling exhaustion from the heat so we closed down early.I think today is the first day I've felt ok since.The Heat Wave finally broke last night it's still hot but not 100+ and they dropped the warnings.We decided to not do fleamarket this sunday and just take a break. With dad and some other things going on I've been a little out of sorts.I just need a day or two of idle time. No schedules or rushing..Just sitting and enjoying a conversation with family and sweet tea under the shade tree...Playing carefree with the girls...Reading..Some good comfort food...Snuggling the fur babies..Going for a walk on the trails..Just taking time to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life..It will surely all be waiting after my break..smile...I went to my friend Kathy's prim shop looking for something for a blog friend,she was sold out but I did find a few small things.She was setting up her fall and halloween displays she is a little expensive but always has the neastest stuff.I'll tell you I'm so ready for the crisp fall days.Warm Blessings!~Amy

Well my sweet friends it's HOT like 114 degrees..Yuck..Remember I didn't once complain about the cold and snow and I would most certainly be content to be back there now..So if you ordered beeswax pineapples I didn't forget just waiting for the temps to drop back down to the 80's(hopefully the begining of the week we will get a 3 day break)..Tomorrow Hubby wants to go to a farm auction about a hour away.They call them mud auctions around here but I don't think there will be any mud since we haven't had rain.His hope is with the heat and yardsales not many will show up and we'll get some good prims resonable..It's outside of course and supposed to be 100+ again so I'm taking a umbrella and plenty of water and hoping I make it through.Today this lady let me dig through boxes at her sale as I was first and she had tons well it was so hot I didn't want to.I know sooo unlike me.Hubby said "I can't believe you don't want to dig for hours this is your dream" Of course I did dig just not as much as normal.Got a few neat things for market...I wanted to take a minute and let you know about Lynn she just started enjoying prims and would love to meet some new friends so stop by and visit her http://www.lifeonthewieneeranch.blogspot.com/ she's such a nice gal...

Seeing Double and Some Thank Yous

Yep I'm seeing double and no not from to many margarita's by the pool..smile...Saturday I went saleing and took very little cash well I came across the front spinning wheel in the picture..Well I was broke by the time I found it and waiting for funds to clear till monday.Hubby and I came home and keep thinking of it.We decided to go over and tell the lady not to negotiate on the price and if it didn't sell call us and we would buy it for her asking price on monday.Well she was so sweet and took our word that we wanted it and said she would go ahead and put it back till monday without a deposite.She was sentimental about the piece and wanted it to go to a good home..She found it in a Virginia farmhouse that she bought 40 years ago and has carried it with her since.She had it appraised 10 years ago for $650 (of course I didn't pay that) and let me say it's a beauty.The other one I have is more plain and primitive.The new one has more detail.One will be going to the sunporch.The first one is late 1700's and the new one is early 1800's..History in itself can only imagine the previous life...

The Burlap Owl recently had a sale and I bought the prim doll from her.(the one in the mustard dress) She is rag stuffed and reminds me of the old plantation dolls...

My sweet secrect sister sent our summer swap.Watermelon apron, Sheep notepad,Sheet music print out and 2 magazines.I can't wait to look through the MaryJanes magazine.I recently found out who my secret sister was by accident but I don't peek at her blog and pretend it's still a secret each time a little gift arrives.Really knowing who it is is fine it puts a face to all her thoughtfull gestures,kindness and gifts..

Well I wasn't one of the ones complaining about the cold so I'm gonna grumble about the heat wave we are going through another 5 days to come of 100 degrees and humid.no rain in sight.I'm not a person who enjoys the HOT.I prefer fall and don't mind a good blizzard as long as I can be snug in my house..smile..I've been going through the loft and some other stuff and will be trying to get a blog sale posted this afternoon or tomorrow.Some new prims and antiques.Yes Robin I will be selling the antique acorn mold so pray your internet doesn't go down sweetie.I will probly do a couple of post and it will be paypal only by saturday afternoon so I can take the leftovers to fleamarket.There are always exceptions and you are more than welcome to email me.Just last time I had someone who talked me down on something ordered several additional things then never bothered to pay or even answer emails..Well girls stay cool and enjoy your day! Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far..Above is a image from my antique photos you are free to use it for your projects.Love the shoes and the little ball..Well I did get to go jukning but to lazy to do pics so I'll post a few the begining of the week.I didn't find alot for me but found lots for fleamarket...

I found a 1932 Philco standing radio with all the tubes and bakelite handles, The old cream top milk bottles,milk carrier,chicken crate, a yellow ware watt cream pitcher, wood barrel with lid,rowe pottery and other goodies to go to sale tomorrow.For me the best find was a tiny firkin.Last week I bought the little bucket but sold it to a friend that owns a shop as It wasn't quit right on the stack.Well the one I found this week is perfect.I did find a beautiful old spinning wheel from scotland but by that time I was out of money and the lady would not take a check so I didn't get it....So todays plans are just to take it easy the rest of the day and work on some of my beeswax pineapple orders and swap stuff....Oh and the best part of the weekend is I ran into one of my dearest friends who I lost contact with a few years back.Let me tell you she is the sweetest,kind hearted and giving person you would ever meet.She is the person who you can trust with anything and brings you dinner when your down.What's weird is we bump into each other today at fleamarket and we were both thinking about eachother recently.It was like we never been apart and we will be going to lunch soon.So excited as I really missed her...Well girls Thanks for the info on the chemo I did call the pharmactist as per Robins advice and they explained that depending on how strong a person is they do adminster both treatments. They are planning on removing the tumor around september.Thanks for the pick me up on the grumpy day.You girls are the best! I plan to take a day trip next week to gettysburg (yes it close) but I love to play tourist for the day and I'm sure me and my girlfriend will want to catch up and enjoy some prim shopping...

A little Grumpy and Chemo question

Yep I'm a little grumpy.Why? Well I should be here... My family took a vacation to Ocean City MD.I was supposed to share a room with my cousin Heidi (isn't she beautiful,I helped raise her)...

But at the time we were planning the trip is when I found out dad had cancer so I decided to cancel.I didn't want to leave dad and at the time didn't know what to expect.He's doing so much better than expected and would have been OK for a few days...This will probly be the last year grandma makes it to the beach and the whole family on mom's side is there..So a little grumpy I'm missing...

And some of these by the pool...Hmmm could have some of these by the pool still..smile...Maybe I could talk hubby into pretending to by a waiter..

On the bright side I get to go junking this morning.Fingers crossed I find something wonderful!

On a more serious note My dad is doing pretty good.He's tired of sitting around so has been doing some work on the farm I've been giving him heck because he overdoes it a little and it's been HOT here.He's been doing a little auction work too but not like he did.He gets worn out more easily now.The doctors were a little upset he lost a half a pound he's a small man already but he has been eating better real food not just take out so that could be why he lost a little.Oh and a question for anyone who has been through this,My dad told me he's getting radiation and chemo at the same time.He told me the pills he's taking are chemo pills and cost $5000 for two packs.Does that sound right to be getting both at the same time? I thought the pills were to make him not be sick during radiation but he says they are chemo pills so they don't have to use his veins.If anyone knows I'd appreciate it.I do look over alot of his papers but don't get to talk to the doctors alot so some things I have to figure out myself.My grandma says that's because dad doesn't want to burden me which I appreciate to a extent but I also need to know I do all I can for him.Well girls thanks for listening to my grumpiness...smile...Warm Blessings!~Amy
